Hey guys heres a few pictures of the BORLA exhaust system for the G8. This is the prototype piece developed on our shop G8. From what i understand there will be 2 versions. 1 with a more aggressive sound and the other with a more subtle sound. This one is the more aggressive of the 2 versions.

Working on it. I have a clip recorded on a cheapo digital camera but its not worth anything. Possibly later today we are gonna shoot some video of the car with an actual video camera.

Those tips are pretty big, I like them... Any sound clips? What's the word on how soon they will be available?

Looks nice, but the tips seem a bit big, but that's just me. The one thing I miss from my '06 Mustang GT is the sound of the exhaust. I installed the FRPP exhaust which is a Borla Stinger product with FRPP tips. It sounded so damn good - can't wait to hear clips of this system.

looks better than the raggedy exhaust Borla makes for the 98-02 Camaro... and $800 sounds about right for a 3" catback...

Ive had nothing but the greatest results from Borla. Sound, and performance are excellent! They'll definatly have my bussiness again.Hopefully the price is reasonable.

Has any of the emissions system been removed? I thoughthe G8 had twin cats just down of the exhaust manifolds? Not sure. I hear the 2009 will have more stuff on the exhaust for emissions.

We got some footage of it at the track yesterday. Ill disect it today and see if the audio is any good.

These resonators probably have something to do with tuning the over all sound of the exhaust only.

Thanks for posting. I absolutely love the tips. How big are they? They look bigger than the ones on Magnaflow's catback.

I'll withhold judgment on the sound due to the clip's low quality. For the tips alone, I'm hoping I really like the sound of the Borla system!

It actually looks like a 3" exhaust...wish that could be confirmed.

The Tips are pretty big. I would like to say 2" each but i dont have the car here to measure but they are larger then the stock tips for sure.

I dont think its 3" tubing, atleast it didnt look that big to me when i was under the car. It appeared to be a 2.5" setup.

Check out this video of the car at the track. You can hear the exhaust note from the G8 pretty good during the burnout just after the loud chevelle finishes its burnout.

Once I got used to it I don't even notice it anymore but I was just wondering how the interior noise was on the G8. I love the sound of this system from the clips.

The way it sits right now we have a touch of drone at a very specific load and rpm. I went for a ride with David Borla and he assured me the problem would be resolved by the time they were released for production.

The car isnt with us at the moment. There is a difference in the exhaust note for sure but i wouldnt compare it to a helicopter though. Theres a little more gurgle in the note, it honestly just sounds like its running on 4 cylinders i cant describe it any other way.

Just got off the phone with the guys over at Borla.

They happen to be in the process of moving there facilities and its set everything back a few weeks. They have assured us that they haven't forgot about us.

it would be really nice if they would release the damn exhaust already. its borla, not some mickey mouse cup cake company that has 2 employees and they are making exhaust from used coca cola cans held together with duck tape and gorilla glue. they should at least have some pricing information. from the sound clips i have heard on you tube and here, this exhaust sounds bad ass. its a shame we have been waiting months just for a price and availability :(

At this point guys we are waiting for an update just like you. The delay is simply because they are moving manufacturing facilities right now.

We are in the process of completing a system for the G8. We are in the process of moving our R & D facilities to a new location, so work on it has been set aside. We hope to have the system completed in 30 days or so. Please check back them to see if the system is finished.

Do you really want something that was rushed to market? I have seen too many headers crack and chip because insufficient testing was done before release.

When are you guys expecting it back from Baer? What do they need to do with it other than test fit after they get the car?? After that they're gonna need to make quantity right? I think its gonna still be a bit before they are on anybodies door step.:whine:

Damn, that sounds real good! I'm curious what the more subtle one will sound like. As much as I like the aggressive sound, my Camaro is real loud and I want to keep this car toned down as a nice cruiser. The Borla will definitely be a possibility for me though!

Guys, I had quite a few pony cars in the past (LS1 Cars, Mustang Cobras, Mustang Fox GTs) and let me tell you, a dabbled with dynomax catbacks then went to Borlas and stayed with them on ALL my cars..That sound clip sounds almost like my LS1 TA sounded like with Borla..SO AWESOME..it was perfect....not too loud, not to quiet- no hwy drone...

Borla is the only thing Id put on anice car like a gt.
