: Anyway to reset wheels sensors?
Blackbirdws6 05-24-2008, 05:14 PM Had a weird issue when I went to the track. I proceeded to drop the tires pressure in the rear two tires to about 26psi. After doing so with a quality guage, the computer bugged out and informed me that the right rear and front left were at these pressures. Dumbfounded, I checked and it seems that the drivers side wheels have swapped locations at some point. Is there anyway to reset their location?

Damnit I knew it was going to be there too but I was just being lazy lol. I'll take a look. :slap:
Zaphod B 05-27-2008, 12:18 PM The TPMS makes me a little bit nuts. It consistently reports the left front tire at 1- 2 psi less than the right front, even immediately after I have evened out the pressure on both tires.
The other three tires seem to read OK, if maybe 1 psi lower than what my gauge reads.

Yea, the TPMS doesn't appear to be super accurate. I set all the tires to 36 with a digital gauge and TPMS seems to give random readings +- a pound or so. I think it is designed to be just accurate enough to work as a warning system.

Same here. I was freaking out that I might have a slow leak in the LF, but I rechecked it with the gauge and the pressure was the same as before, so I don't know what the deal is with the LF TMPS reading.

That's really interesting that you are seeing the same thing on the same corner of the car. I wonder if it has anything to do with that sensor's location relative to the receiver in the car.

Have you noticed how fast the readings go up when you are on the freeway? Those things must be pretty sensitive.

Yep, they definitely react to changes in temp quickly.
redhed 05-28-2008, 03:10 AM quick question for you guys. i'm thinking about having my wheels road force balanced. problem is i have to do it at the local toyota dealership. so, my question is, if the wheels are taken off the car, rebalanced and then put back on the same location from whence they came, will the tpms be okay, or will it have to be reset? thanks, troy

No, if the wheels are remounted in their original positions everything will be OK.
