: Dynoed my G8
Gpdan 05-26-2008, 01:03 AM So on Saturday I went to Haddad Motorsports and got my car dynoed. So far, i have installed a full 2.5 inch cat back with a magnaflow x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers and a roto-fab intake. And the numbers are in........ 351.3 horsepower to the wheels and 360.1 ft/lbs of torque. :driving:
Here are the pictures of the graph:

Stingpac 05-26-2008, 02:21 AM How loud is your car with the Catback and Magnaflow Mufflers ?
2010G8GXP 05-26-2008, 03:24 AM not bad.. was these numbers after tuning or no tuning?
racerx 05-26-2008, 07:56 AM Nice, did you tweak the ECU? Did you install the cat back system?
h3llphyre 05-26-2008, 10:03 AM Did you ever baseline your car? Looks like AT LEAST a 45rwhp gain from exhaust, CAI, and tune. Thats insane. Essentially, congrats on making as much power as the 09 GXP
Red-Rocket 05-26-2008, 10:17 AM Impressive, goes to show how choked up our cars come from the factory.
JTSnooks 05-26-2008, 10:34 AM It's also on a Dynapack, so figure about 10-15hp less on a typical dynojet. Even less on a Mustang, but most people use Dynojet numbers. Looks like you're making right around where a stock manual-transmission GTO would, which is really good for so few mods. Also looks like it's not even tuned yet, judging by the AFR numbers. Not sure why the AFR numbers go up so much, unless you were tuning it on the dyno, but the top-end AFRs are still really low.
Gpdan 05-26-2008, 11:36 AM Thanks guys. I have not tuned the car yet, however that is coming up soon. The catback was done by a local muffler shop and it was from scratch. It is actually not too loud at all. Only when you are driving on the streets is when you can hear it the most. On the top end, only the intake is noticeable.
mygto 05-26-2008, 06:28 PM Nice numbers. Get that thing tuned.:D
Blackdevil77 05-26-2008, 07:58 PM wow. I want that done to my car lol. GET A TUNE!
pinski 05-26-2008, 08:02 PM Wow... you might be above 370whp with a tune for 93 octane and your current mods.
Torqued 05-26-2008, 08:05 PM Great numbers. Were you running premium or regular fuel? Congrats.
racerx 05-26-2008, 08:35 PM I forgot to ask, what do you think of roto-fab intake system??
Gpdan 05-26-2008, 10:21 PM I was running premium fuel. I plan on tunning the car soon, just need to get the proper funds. Also, i love the roto fab intake. It sounds mean at high rpm's and it was very easy to install. Its a great product.
Zeebo 05-27-2008, 07:20 PM Very impressive!! Keep us posted after the tune.
haddadmotorsports 05-27-2008, 09:07 PM GPDan forgot to mention.
All but the top three #'s are from my stock G8
I printed it that way so that he could get an idea of his gains.
Its amazing how the fueling is near identical.
There is at least 15-20 rwhp in tune on his car
Premium in CA = 91 octane
Thanks

ruski 06-17-2008, 12:11 PM are these cars tunable? I mean with the cylinder deactivation et al.

Abusolutely
With great results to boot.
Thanks

Gpdan 06-17-2008, 02:30 PM Hey Mike, You should tune my car for free so everyone can see the results of a tuned car that is pretty much stock.......:gr_jest:
gartht 06-17-2008, 02:31 PM So what would be his HP at the flywheel? RWHP is the most important of course but just curious, what his 362 HP GM claims amounts to after tune, exhaust and CAI.

That's cool - thanks for posting this info. So, from the rotofab intake + exhaust the car made about 25-30 additional rear wheel horsepower over stock, right? Wasn't exactly sure from the graphs- looked like your stock G8 GT made around 320-325 rwhp (SAE) on the dynapak dyno. If that's the case, that's pretty impressive.
