Ok so I purchased my 2009 G8 in December. Not even 30 minutes after i bought it, the check engine light came on and the car started to miss horribly bad. So i immediatly took it back to the dealership and they said it was the o2 sensor.'..so they cleared the code and it ran fine. About 2 hours later it happend again. so back to the dealership i go. This time they said it was the MAF. They "fixed"it again....then for the third time it happens again so they replace some injectors, coils, plugs and wires.
My car has ran great untill this week. Today really scared me. Im driving down I-64 and my check engine light pops on and the engine missfire comes back. Then it looses all power to everything and my steering wheel locks up. This car freaked me out. so not only am i loosing power to everything, i also got my missfire back as well. It is horrible now. (worse than before) The ESP turned itself off, the tranny was shifting through gears on its own, and engine kept backfiring.
Im just fed up with this car and It seems that my dealership is just giving me the run around and not wanting to actually fix my car.
I traded my 08 maxima for the G8 and Im regreting it.
Any ideas to what the hell is wrong with my car?

Sounds like either a bad ECM (electronic control module) or BCM (body control module) to me. It could also be a bad crankshaft sensor. There are so many electronics on cars these days and they can last 10 years or 10 days. You never know when they will go bad.

Welcome to the world of poor customer service. I too have a crappy dealership down the road.

I got the car to the dealership this evening. I just hope they will actually fix my car instead of telling me they fixed it and just clear the code.....has anyone on the forum had issues out of his or her g8?
and yes...crappy dealerships suck.

They can't test the ECM or BCM in the car, it has to be removed and sent out for testing. So that's why they replaced the parts that they did. Plus they don't have a device that they plug into the car and it tells them what's wrong with it. The codes only tell them about a certain condition but it doesn't say this is bad so replace it.
I have a factory service manual and it would make your head spin seeing the diagnostic procedure for testing one electronic part on your car. Not only that but electrical problems are the hardest to track down. So give them the benefit of the doubt here, and let them try to fix it before you start throwing wild accusations about the dealership not being any good.

Well it's a roll of the dice whether you get a good car or a bad one. There's no such thing as 100% in manufacturing, no matter what company you buy a car from. Mine had 2 minor issues that were taken care of, and after 33,000 miles it's been trouble free. Hopefully once they get yours fixed you can say the same thing too.

Could help you out a lot more if you tell us what faults (P-codes) they've seen/cleared.
W/out that info we're left to speculation...ask your dealer, they'll tell you.
Given they've changed an O2, MAF, and ign system parts they could be chasing misfire faults. Then again bad O2s don't really cause MF.

Lots of cars here had problems with their BCMs. Also, the computer runs self tests every so often. There was one Calais that got a flat battery after being left for an hour.
Buying a good or bad car is just the luck of the draw. Hopefully you can get yours all fixed so you can enjoy it properly.
