This is for anyone that has owned a 97-03 GP and now owns a G8.

Are the headlights an improvement on the G8? I'm sure they are because the GP headlights were THE worst ones I have seen. Just wondering how much better they are.

i'll agree on the GP headlights...i put silverstar bulbs in mine...it's liveable now...

Had 97GTP. Headlights are much better on the G8.

The difference is night and day - literally!!

The older GP's had the worst headlights I've ever had on a car. You could barely see anything at night. The later GP's were 100X better and the G8 is as good as the later GP's.

I have HIDs in my GTP.......and that was a really nice improvement. But the G8's projectors and hi-beams are much better than the GTP's.

The headlights in my 02 GP were bad, much better in my present 05 GP and I hope even better in my future G8.

On my 97 GTP, I replaced the stock fogs with BlazerTech's. I use them as my only lights. They're far better than hi beams.

That is my fear of the G8. They do not make those any more and was wondering about the lighting situation as well.

Now if my G8 would only get here... 90 days and STILL counting.

Well the 04+ headlights are alot better than the previous gen, so I don't see why the G8 headlights wouldn't be as good or better than the 04+

I have a 98 GP GT. The G8 is far and above a superior car. Personally I don't see how you compare a 98-03 GP to a new 2008 car anyways.

Agreed, with Silverstars, my headlights were OK in the GTP. But the G8 is great in terms of the headlights and everything else.

Agreed. But you'd think cars built in the late 90's and early 2000's wouldn't have such crappy lights given the technology.

x2...our 02 explorer's lights blow the GP's out of the water...ESPECIALLY the high beams...

My gtp lights were fine for the first 4-5 years then deteriorated when the platic lenses started fogging. The G8 is using different plastic (from feel) so should be better.

I had a 2000 GP and I used to hold a flashlight out the front window when I drove.....

I own at '99 GP GTP that now is driven by my son. The GP lights were so bad I replaced them with new ones and replaced the 27 watt driving lights with 100 watt 4" replacements from Advance Auto Parts. Had to mod the driving light ounting hardware but they work great.

Would like to replace the driving lights on G8 the same way with real lights.

had to get new clear corner lenses 5 years into ownership,the fogs were swapped out with 55w driving lights on my GP

the G8 lights are awesome.
