: No Air Ride System
mlott132 05-27-2008, 02:44 PM Just got a response from the tech guys at Air Ride, and they told me that they do not have a system in the works for the G8. I was really hoping that they would. I even offered up my car if they needed a test vehicle. :whine:
Oh my.............. here comes the getto!
Turbolover 06-01-2008, 06:20 PM Unreal ...
locrzng888 06-01-2008, 06:53 PM Air ride would be cool if you have the right wheel/tire combo so you can lay the car out. Just like my old 93 Impala ss (clone). Shock waves on the the front and bags on the rear.

When you do get it... See if you can get it on TV on the Low rider show!
mlott132 06-01-2008, 09:15 PM Just to set the records straight. I am not looking to turn my car into a lowrider or into a "getto" ride!!! What I am looking for is a system that will improve the ride and handling of the car. Checkout Air Ride Technologies website and you will not find any "getto" cars just cars that can outrun most cars that have conventional shocks and springs! I know that when someone brings up the word air ride, the first thing that everyone thinks is lowrider. However, a lot of the muscle cars coming out of the best shops, i.e Foose, Rad Rods by Troy, Boyd Coddington, and others use this system.
neelnug 06-02-2008, 06:15 PM STOP MAKING FUN OF AIR RIDE! IM SERIOUS!

locrzng888 06-02-2008, 07:42 PM Hey, let em go, until you've had a car with air ride, you really don't have a clue, mine wasn't a getto cruiser and it won many awards, such as best paint and graphics at the street machine nationals, best of show several times. Mine handled much better then with aftermarket springs, you put a stock height ride next to the same car in air ride and you'll see who gets the most attention. It just amazes me to hear some of you cut down others cars. Until you've been there you don't know ****. Get a grip, if you don't have something decent to say about others with an idea, don't respond to the thread.

:iagree:.... Some people have no idea what they are talking about.
Airride is on many vehicles that most have no idea about.
Lincoln navigator, Chevy TBSS, Various Lincoln cars, Semi trucks, Hot rods around the globe...
We are not talking Hydraulics here.
I have built 3 vehicles with airride on them. In all 3 cases the vehicle handled extremely well and rode luxury like.
Thats funny though, Imagine these guys telling Foose that his rides are ghetto because of the airride.....:slap::rofl:
Cashed 06-03-2008, 03:39 PM I would love an airride set up on my G8 and especially my Goat. I have it on a 70 Chevy C10. Dont knock it till you try it. Rides and handles GREAT! go to ridetech.com and check out some of the videos of their autocross runs.
BriskG8GT 06-03-2008, 05:16 PM I had air bags on my cavalier. So much better than hydrolics. Not sure if I would do it again on a daily driver. But for a show car, definitly. So much fun to play with the bags. Especially if you put them on remote.

I was basically daily driven on bags from 1999 until 2005. I am looking forward to doing it again hopefully. It is very cool as long as things are engineered correctly. And the G8 would be a perfect platform for bags...Lots of extra space for the tanks, etc...
I drove through many states and had lots of fun....:driving:
JusticePete 06-05-2008, 08:09 PM There is room in the enthusiast community for everyone. If and when you go air in a G8 let us know.
I have air ride on my 65 Ford Econoline!
