: TEASER! Solo Performance V6 Axle-Back Kit Interest Thread
GOINGSOLO2 04-08-2010, 07:40 PM Solo Performance strives to meet the needs of all G8 owners. We have developed a V6 axle-back kit that is direct bolt-on. We need to know how interested the G8 V6 community is in having us produce this kit. Kit comparison and details are as follows:
V6 G8 Stock system:
1) Stock system on rev... The stock system on the V6 G8 while revving sounds quiet and you can hear the motor. There is not much noise at all from the exhaust. The stock rev is not a good sound or a bad sound, just some motor noise.
2) Stock system while driving... When you are under load, you can hear the motor winding up and that’s all. Once cruising, it’s dead quiet and all you can hear is road noise.
Solo Performance V6 G8 Axle Back:
1) Rev...A very deep base tone that is a smooth and full exhaust note.
2) Driving...While under load the V6 G8 exhaust note has a nice “bite”....deep and aggressive with a muscle car flavor. The exhaust note never gets out of hand. It always seems to be in control. No drone throughout the RPM spectrum, and it has a soft melodious hum at cruise speeds.
It is extremely difficult to get the V6 G8 to have enough exhaust note to be satisfying to the customer, and not to drone. We labored long and hard to find what we think is the perfect balance point of a great exhaust note and a very acceptable tone in the inherent “trouble” ranges of the V6 G8. If it were any louder, the trouble ranges would be unacceptable, and any softer and the exhaust note would not have enough “bite” to it.
We are looking at a price under $500 shipped.

zepcom 04-08-2010, 09:01 PM Never thought this day would come. Amazing, choices for every different combination out there, and now includes V6 guys too!
majesticix 04-10-2010, 08:56 PM These guys are on fire. I haven't seen this much development for the G8 from one company besides Holden!
Fine work gentlemen, keep it coming!
watson138 04-11-2010, 12:36 AM The tone sounds great from the videos. Much better than the stock sound. To get a better response from possible buyers you might want to look into posting this in the V6 forum. Like the others have said great work.

Done...thanks for the tip:)
vic2186 04-11-2010, 12:15 PM Done...thanks for the tip:)
how these will sound on a GT ??drone or na??i like the look of them and i want something with a muffler??mayb ya can build me something with you quantum set
GOINGSOLO2 04-11-2010, 12:33 PM These do not drone on the V6 we tested it on....we tried MANY different combinations of product...9 to be exact...and this was the best sounding and kept the drone out of the trouble spots. I would think it would be the same deal on the GT.
blkout 04-11-2010, 12:58 PM I am def down for these .....been looking for axel backs for a while now for my v6 and def do not want drone. All you ned to do now is make the rest of the exhaust :) than I think you really will be in business. The only cat back out there for us is in Ausie for well over $1000 to pricey. I think the best sound we can get out of our cars is being as close to a G35 or 370z not to loud not to low but just enough to see and hear you coming...
Agose25 04-11-2010, 01:09 PM Good deal for the V6 community...pretty awesome that SOLO has officially out developed any other exhaust company that I have seen on the forum...congrats SOLO on this new venture!!
BiggBerger 04-11-2010, 01:38 PM On the test car where there any mods? I might be interested but either way it sounds good and thanks for thinking of us V6 guys.

There were no mods on the test car at all.

Hello. We don't currently have plans to make a full cat-back for the V6...we want to keep the price low while still delivering a great product.
Phenox 04-11-2010, 08:51 PM For those with the V6 if its like the GT's just cut the resonator ad an x pipe and you have better flow and sound
66cat389 04-11-2010, 09:37 PM ...
HardTech 04-11-2010, 09:37 PM seriously the V6 peeps get a muffler axle back... Any way it will fit on a V8 :/
GOINGSOLO2 04-11-2010, 09:59 PM We have an axle-back for the V8 already:)

GOINGSOLO2 04-11-2010, 10:00 PM Yes! Yes! A thousand times YES! Build it!
If there's enough interest, we will build it...we need another car into our shop in order to make the jig for the kit.
mesh_control 04-12-2010, 01:11 AM I'm sold on these. Finally something other than CAI I can put on my car!
Thanks!
Chief 04-12-2010, 10:53 AM Glad to see someone else has taken up the fight.
I was the test mule for the Magnaflow cat back system for the V6. They said they tried just a muffler system but it sounded awful. The cat back system, while nice, was louder inside the car than outside. Outside the car had a nice low deep sound. The worst drone was in 5th gear at around 1500 RPM's and slowley applying throttle.
So your saying you have made a system that overcomes these problems? If so, that's great.
I would caution adding in a X pipe as someone else mentioned as that will drastically change the sound of the system and may bring back the dreaded drone. The magnaflow system had an X pipe.

Our kit has combated the trouble spots and sounds great! We tried many different combinations before finding the best one.

Brooklyn P 04-12-2010, 08:16 PM The exhaust sounds great - I'm interested
Derekprz 04-12-2010, 08:41 PM I'm in
Schwartz 04-12-2010, 09:52 PM If you build it...we will come.I'm sold, how do i order? And thanks a bunch for thinking of us.

That you do, no muffler though. So its extremely loud I would bet. Because at that point its almost a strait pipe.
GOINGSOLO2 04-12-2010, 10:46 PM We need a car to come to our Mississagua store to build the kit and make the jig. We would need the car for 4-5 hours, and would give a very hefty discount to the customer for letting us use the car. After that, we will have the jig to make the kits for your V6's. Any takers?
mesh_control 04-13-2010, 12:32 AM where is this at?
dragonzeta 04-13-2010, 02:43 AM Too bad you are so far away from me (Lousiana); I would be ur guinea pig. But Mississaga, Ontario (Canada) is a crazy long drive for me. Hopefully someone closer to the border can help out.
GOINGSOLO2 04-13-2010, 06:50 AM where is this at?
Mississagua is in Ontario, Canada. That is where our fabrication shop is. We would be willing to give the guinea pig the axle-back for $250 installed, and we could start building axle-backs for all the V6'ers.
kmfescoe 04-13-2010, 08:57 AM I'm definitely interested in the final product. Good work.
i wish i could go but im in hawaii.... hope it gets made id buy it
Schwartz 04-13-2010, 07:12 PM I'm in vancouver canada, but still a ways out.Wonder how long of a drive that would be?hmmmm...........
GOINGSOLO2 04-13-2010, 09:18 PM I'm in vancouver canada,but still a ways out.Wonder how long of a drive that would be?hmmmm...........
It would totally be worth the trip!! Almost half price and a better sounding car...what's better than that? LOL
Schwartz 04-13-2010, 10:54 PM And the half i save i will be spending on gas ,actually even more on gas. It's about a 2 day trip without resting.Meet me half way?LOL
jaxredg8 04-13-2010, 10:58 PM But its an excuse for a road trip right???? LOL
Anthony 04-13-2010, 11:46 PM Yes! Especially since it's Canadian made!
If you guys can't find anyone in the next few days, I'll see what I can do. 8 hours drive, ain't THAT bad (it's just that Quebec-NYC and Quebec-Florida in the last 6 months made the odometer roll faster...)
GOINGSOLO2 04-14-2010, 10:11 AM The first one we get to come to the shop gets the discount and helps us fabricate the kit for all of the other V6'ers. We have had many people drive from NY and come to our shop. It would be abour an 8 hour drive for most, but it is an excuse for a roadtrip:)
Saginaw748 04-14-2010, 03:07 PM I just want to say someone REALLLLY needed to make a Canada trip.
I contacted them last month about it and was about ready to head over there but remembered that there are new procedures in place for crossing the border. That pretty much turned me away and I regret that I couldn't get an immediate passport to head over.
Good looking out Solo!!
Anthony 04-14-2010, 10:11 PM Are you open on Saturdays?
GOINGSOLO2 04-15-2010, 09:16 AM Are you open on Saturdays?

GoneUpInFlames 04-16-2010, 12:38 PM And if THAT falls through, then I'll drive out from Winnipeg. Gives me an excuse to take a roadtrip for a few days :p
What was the finalized price on this, around $500?
Anthony 04-16-2010, 01:12 PM If no one can come before, I'd be there Saturday the 24th.
Waiting for your decision guys :P .
Derekprz 04-16-2010, 06:51 PM Will we see any performance improvements with the exhaust?
Schwartz 04-16-2010, 07:07 PM Hopefully i'll have these mufflers on my car before the car show in mid june.
The 24th sounds good, thanks if you do go.

Let us know...first one to call Jeff and set up an appointment gets in and receives the discount. His number is 905-703-1557.
Will we see any performance improvements with the exhaust?
The performance increase will be slight...since it is just an axle-back. It is difficult to get any performance increases, even with a full cat-back on a V6 without tuning. You will notice an immediate improvement in throttle response, but until it is tested on the dyno, we will not know any HP and TQ gains for sure. It will definitely be more free flowing and sound a heck of a lot better, so I would expect to see some gains.
Derekprz 04-17-2010, 07:31 PM Thanks for the info Steve. I'm liking what your saying.
Virus 04-17-2010, 08:18 PM Derekprz, don't think, just call Jeff. I promise you'll be very happy!
Derekprz 04-18-2010, 09:44 PM I talked to Virus, who is a user of your exhaust and he has me really looking forward to the release of the V6 exhaust. He also has said a lot of good things about Steve and Solo.
Schwartz 04-18-2010, 09:54 PM I think about the mufflers everyday,i can't wait!
GOINGSOLO2 04-19-2010, 06:41 AM We are lookiong forward to hearing from you. Give us a call and schedule when you wanted to come in!
SpiG8 04-20-2010, 05:05 PM Someone please go take your car so that they can start making these for us. I am down for buying a set as soon as they are available if ever.

bvitaG8 04-22-2010, 06:27 AM interested as well...i smell a group discount, lol

OMG! :( :drink:
Saginaw748 04-22-2010, 10:31 AM Damned, foiled again!
If I had a passport I could make this run tomorrow!
I ended up removing my magnaflows because the drone was just to much on the way to work in the a.m.
I will probably get these when they are available due to the fact that the mod's I want to try to quiet the Magnaflows will cost more (when MF pipes figured in) than these proven axle backs.
Someone please take one for the team...in a good way!
harddrivet 04-22-2010, 08:11 PM Awesome !!!!
Anybody got it?
hazer396 04-22-2010, 10:07 PM Listen, Solo Guys...
We have the V6 for a reason, more MPGs, Less Insurance $$, etc..
So PLEASE give us a hand and make them cheap!

We will do the best we possibly can for the V6 community. The price will depend on what components are needed to create the kit.

Any time you free the flow, it helps. A good intake will deepen the note and possibly provide small hp increases. It will all be most beneficial with proper tuning, although it is not necessary for simply and exhaust and intake.

We did but we don't have a jig for it yet until our scheduled customer comes in with his V6 for the making of the jog. I believe that will be this week. I am sorry to hear about your tips. We could always get you out a set of tips, and then when our kit is ready, you could cut them off the stock kit and weld them on the new kit. We would just send your axle-back with no tips. Give me a call at 516-655-9002:)
GOINGSOLO2 04-27-2010, 09:00 AM We would like to move on with the V6 Axle-Back project, but we have not gotten any calls from a volunteer willing to come in for one day so we can jig up the kit. Again, we are offering the volunteer the finished axle-back for $250. Call Jeff at 905-703-1557 if you would like to be that volunteer:)

Anthony, thanks for the reply. I knew you had said that it might be a possibility for you. Didnt want to take your place if you were still interested.

EL REY 04-29-2010, 07:49 PM is there anyway in hell that instead of the dual tips can make it like the V6 with the single big tip?
i honestly like the V6s looks WAY more than the GTs
Schwartz 04-29-2010, 10:26 PM is there anyway in hell that instead of the dual tips can make it like the V6 with the single big tip?
i honestly like the V6s looks WAY more than the GTs
I doubt it,unless SOLO will do it for you.But i here what your saying.I used to love the 2 big cannons coming out the back(I still do,but...),but now I think the dual tips just simply say POWER!!
GOINGSOLO2 04-30-2010, 07:53 AM Having one large tip should not be a problem. I will make the suggestion to Buffalo to have this as an option. The tip would have to come separate and be tack welded on though. It would not fit the jig for the kit. I will speak to Jeff about it today. Any idea what size round tip you would want in there? 4.5" (what we use on Camaro)?
EDIT: The cutouts on the V6 are rectangular so a round tip in there might look silly...BUTTTT...if it is to your preference to have one round tip, we can include either 4" or 4.5" double walled and beveled round tips that would have to be tack welded on. We will include clamps for them also, but you would want to have it tack welded so they don't move around. The standard 3" quads will come pre-welded on the kit if that is the tip you want. It is the only one that will fit the jig. You also have the option of getting the 3.5" quads separately, and similar to the single round tip option...it would have to be tack welded on.
SpiG8 04-30-2010, 05:34 PM I thought that the Axleback where going to be a direct replacement for out V6 cars which meant that they would have single exhaust tips on each side. Am i misunderstanding something?
GOINGSOLO2 04-30-2010, 11:01 PM They will be a direct replacement. The V6 that we worked on had the same fascia as the G8 GT. We have a V6 coming into the shop tomorrow so we will have more information by tomorrow night and early next week. I am currently at a mod meet in Maryland with tons of cars and great people.
Schwartz 04-30-2010, 11:08 PM I'd prefer the dual tips, like the ones in the video you advertised.

Maryland Mod Meet at deepbluegxp's house. It's in Lusby, MD. It is a Solstice/Sky meet. Deepbluegxp is the admin on the Kappaperformance forum.
Derekprz 05-02-2010, 02:52 PM You are way south of where Blkout and I live. At least you had a good weekend weather wise. Did you get that G8 in for the exhaust fit?
GOINGSOLO2 05-02-2010, 04:28 PM I will know when I talk to the boys in Buffalo. I have been away for almost 3 days and kind of out of the loop LOL. I got some work done to my Solstice...seats, coilovers, etc. I was also installing exhaust kits and HF cats on the Solstice and Sky all day yesterday.
tosspint 05-03-2010, 03:48 PM Gahh..I'm always late to the party. I read this entire thread but I'm still not sure if someone offered their car? Did they? I'm in Lewiston, NY and would make the drive to "the Miss" in a heartbeat for this axle-back! Let me know if you need a test car. I want this! LOL
tosspint - thanks for the offer, but I did make the trip to SOLO and have had the axle-backs installed. They kept my stock mufflers to help in building the jig.
The muffler performs exactly as the initial post in the thread indicates..... it also either reduces the "noisy" engine sound or covers it up. I'm not sure which. The must objectionable part of the V6 imo was the engine noise, and I couldn't understand that because I had this same engine in a Saturn Aura and it didnt sound the same. The sound is 200% better. Not silent, but not overly loud either.
I will post pics when I get a chance.
GOINGSOLO2 05-03-2010, 07:04 PM I will be putting up a thread tonight. We have a jig now and will be offering these kits for sale. I will link to the thread a little later when it is completed. Thanks for coming to our shop rd09...you helped us be able to offer this kit to the V6 community.
zepcom 05-03-2010, 07:17 PM tosspint - thanks for the offer, but I did make the trip to SOLO and have had the axle-backs installed. They kept my stock mufflers to help in building the jig.

rd09,
the REAL question here is does it make the car sound more like a musclecar? I'm NOT inferring any V8 verses V6 wars, rather, SOLO set out to build a performance exhaust sounding axelback for the V6 crowd; did they succeed?
:driving:
GOINGSOLO2 05-03-2010, 07:25 PM The new thread is up and running. You can purchase your V6 axle-back kit by calling me at 516-655-9002. Here is the link to the thread: http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?p=510696#post510696
Thanks for the support and we are happy to bring this to the V6 community!!
Silver G8 05-03-2010, 07:27 PM Would there possibly be a group buy in the near future?
GOINGSOLO2 05-03-2010, 07:30 PM I spoke to Jeff about that today and we will not be offering a group buy. We priced it very competitively and are offering a forum price of $499 shipped. It should stay at that price range for a while.

SpiG8 05-04-2010, 12:01 AM Just to verify, will this set be available to order with the single exhaust tips like the stock exhaust on the V6 G8s as previously discussed, also, i noticed on the pictures that it seems that the new mufflers themselves are chrome or shinny is that how these kits will be when they arrive to us? Sorry if these are nit picky questions, i just like to be informed as much as possible. Thanks.

I'd recommend you give Steve (see previous post) a call. They come stock with dual-dual 3" chrome beveled tips (as pictured) but if you prefer one of their other tip offerings (larger single or squared/rectangled) he said that those can be shipped "clamped on" and then after it's mounted on your car, you have your local muffler shop tack weld them on to ensure that they're not crooked or whatnot. Give Steve a call and he can answer any more questions you may have!
Justinss 05-04-2010, 07:37 AM Just out of curiosity, I wonder what those would sound like on a GT...
GOINGSOLO2 05-04-2010, 08:47 AM Just out of curiosity, I wonder what those would sound like on a GT...
It would probably be noisy on the V8 with the absence of J pipes. The V6 did not need the J pipes, and they would be a different length because of having two less cylinders in the engine anyway.
trp3383 05-04-2010, 08:59 AM I'll be ordering these as soon as I stumble upon some green backs
Schwartz 05-04-2010, 10:00 AM I'll be on the verge of ordering these also just as soon as i convince my wife in letting me buy these, due to the fact that i already have 4 MODs coming in the mail for THEG8.

I don't know the *actual* reason, but I know when the v8 axelbacks first came out, adoption was slow at first quite similarly. Once word got out from the "first reviews" it started to take off.
Exhaust upgrades are one of those things that videos online all day long do not do it justice. Ideally, you want to hear them in person or go for a test drive in a car with the system you're considering.
As more and more of these kits get sold, the chances of someone who has it nearby to you that you could meet up with, increase.
It's all good! :wink2:

How about a review or post describing your expectations, quality observed of product, ease of installation, and overall impressions. That may help others who are 'on the fence' decide if it is right for them.
GOINGSOLO2 05-23-2010, 05:26 PM Most shipped out on Wednesday...so most of the will be getting their kits this weekend and early this week. Hopefully more will post their reviews this coming week:)

Schwartz 05-24-2010, 09:34 PM They look great too by the way,why don't you just slide underneath the car and put them on.It's pretty straight forward,if you lived by me i'd come over and do it for ya lol
Derekprz 05-24-2010, 09:42 PM They are right out of the box already welded on. I have not done a thing to the tips. If it wasn't raining out there, they would be on. The down fall of not having a garage. LOL
Schwartz 05-24-2010, 09:49 PM Mother nature holding you back, yup.I guess i was mistaken,i thought they said the 3.5 inch tips had to be welded on by the buyer and the 3 inch tips come already on.If you ordered the 3.5 inch tips then i guess they come welded on.That's too bad,i ordered the 3 inch for easy bolt on no messing around with welding. Our stock tips are 3.5 inch.
Schwartz 05-24-2010, 09:54 PM I just looked at my PM from SOLO,this is what they said:
Exact Order with tip size (3" come welded, 3.5" come separate and need to be tack welded)

Derekprz 05-25-2010, 10:04 PM You beat me to the install. Glad to hear that it was a quick install. I know what I'm doing at lunch tomorrow. Did they line right up or did you have to move them around to get the tips lined up?
Schwartz 05-25-2010, 11:30 PM Just got back. It's definitely an improvement. It's a very deep tone, might take awhile to get used to when cruising.I was just in the city.At wide open throttle it's not that much of a difference inside the car.Have to get someone to drive it for me at WOT while i stand on the side of the road to really tell.At light throttle you hear it alot in the car,but when you release the throttle and coast there is no noise heard in the car.But the deep tone and the appearance of the dual tips is an A+ in my opinion. The tips lined up perfectly on the install.Just be careful with the new gaskets, the edges are very sharp, sliced my finger a little installing the second one(i think they warn you about that in the instructions:slap:).I see no reason to post a video since SOLO already did that for us,but i do have a CAI & UDP so if anyone wants a video let me know. But videos just don't do it,you have to hear these in person to get the full effect. And just to let you all know, they DO NOT SOUND LIKE A FART CAN AT ALL! Great job SOLO,and thank you very much.
GOINGSOLO2 05-26-2010, 07:15 AM Great to hear that you like them. We worked hard to get the right combination. Keep us posted with more feedback!

Schwartz 05-26-2010, 07:41 PM I was wrong about the sound at WOT,big difference! Drove the highway today going to work and put the pedal to the floor, the sound was beautiful with no drone.Had a buddy at work drive it for me so i could hear what it sounded like outside the car.Absolutely amazing, wakes up the six big time and makes it sound like it has some Big Balls now.City driving at light throttle there is a Drone at around 1500 rpm but you have to expect this.If you want to wake your six then i highly recommend buying these,SOLO did a great job.
Derekprz 05-26-2010, 09:00 PM Holy $#!^, I used the remote start and boy do you feel that deep rumble in your chest. I did not hit the road yet to test sound drive it, but if its anything like idle I may have to get the smile surgically removed from my face. This is not a wimpy sounding V6 anymore. The install was a breeze and was done in under 30 minutes. The biggest pain was unscrewing the bolts, could they be any longer. LOL There is enough clearance in the back so you don't have to jack up the car. So if there is anyone still undecided, go for it. You will not be disappointed. Excellent job Solo.
PONY MAN 05-26-2010, 10:41 PM Mine should be here tommorrow and look forward to installing them sometime this weekend. Thanks to Schwartz and Derek for the good news.

All I used was a 15 mm socket and ratchet for the bottom bolts. Access to the bottom bolt is easy. The top bolt is a little tricky. So I used an extension on the ratchet and came from the outside of the muffler behind the rear tire to get a better bite on the bolt. The muffler need a little tug to get the hanger out of the rubber mount. A long screwdriver will help to use as a pry bar. I also laid a piece of cardboard under the back end so that I wouldn't accidently drop or drag the new exhaust on the asphalt parking pad. You shouldn't need to jack the car up unless you require the extra room. Not a too difficult job.

Nice writeup for those who have never replaced axelbacks before, Derek.
I had to chuckle a bit when reading it though, as my first ever exhaust mod to my otherwise 100% stock v8 g8 was the infamous "washer mod" where you pretty much follow the procedure you outlined above, but instead of putting SOLO axelbacks on, you (I know, it was stupid, but cheap enough to try at the time!) insert a hardware-store-washer in between one of the bolts to make a small exhaust "leak" right at that connection. For the whisper-soft v8 stock exhaust system, it was somewhat an improvement, if even a ghetto mod. And it was then that I truely learned what DRONE was all about. The washer mod sucked and within a week I went back to stock, but was sad at the new lack of sound once again.
Your 'how to' quoted above brought back some funny memories from way back last summer when I tried that washer mod.
But to tie it all in, that started my quest to find a suitable sounding replacement exhaust system for my G8. Around Thanksgiving 2009 I had one of the first SOLO G8 catback systems purchased and installed on my car. Then with solo I tweaked it and we finally found a system that was drone free (J pipes) for the v8 cars. Then solo "branched out" and developed the V8 car axelbacks, and most recently they now offer some love to the v6 guys too, in the form of these shiny v6 axelbacks.
It's awesome that a company cares so much about the g8 community to continue to develop and offer products to fit a wide variety of needs, not just to the v8 guys. Think of it this way, no more G8's will ever be produced, so the limited supply that is out there is all there will be, yet SOLO still develops a v6 axelback kit which from the reviews above, most certainly delivers on both the hype (waiting) and the excitement (results).
Good job, SOLO!
PS -- The 'washer mod' was one of the worst mistakes that I ever made to my G8. So glad that SOLO rescued me from the "WMA" Washer Mod Anonymous meetings that I regretfully had to attend. lol :drink:

Schwartz,
Here's a tip. Go to the main youtube page for the video in a separate browser. Pull up the first of your videos and play it. Notice the address bar in that browser window.
Now, copy-pasta the address bar (starting with http://www.youtube.com/watch?<BUNCHOFNUMBERSANDLETTERS> ) into your thread, and then select it with your mouse and hit the youtube icon in the g8board compose interface.
You can repeat for each video you want to 'embed'.
From the editor view it will look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?<BUNCHOFSTUFF>
I on purpose misspelled yootube above to ensure that that example showed up in this how-to. :slap:
It looks like you may have tried their "embedding" way, doesn't work for web boards. follow the above and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps!! :wink2:

You can always remove the hangars (2 bolts) from the car first, leaving the rubber portion connected to the muffler. A ltlle squirt of soapy water will help get them off.

mesh_control 05-28-2010, 05:48 AM Finished putting mine on last night with my dad. Quick install without having to jack the car up. The initial start up put a huge smile on my face with a DEEP rumble echoing throughout the garage. I noticed a little drone around 1500 rpm, but it wasn't prevalent enough to worry about in my mind.
I can't thank Solo enough for these!!
Schwartz 05-31-2010, 07:09 PM Still sounding good here! I'm used to them now.I set off someone's car alarm today in my underground parking lot with the DEEP Rumble...HAHA!:drink:
What about the rest of you Macheesmo's???:driving:

PONY MAN 06-01-2010, 08:17 PM Much thanks to Solo, installed mine Friday before going out of town this past Saturday for Memorial Day. Nice job. Very impressive.

It's sounds even better on the drive by's,but no vids yet.It feels more responsive, but it's probably just in my head.Just knowing they are there is good enough for me.Basically just going for the appearance look and sound.

Rich G 06-22-2010, 01:36 AM my wife is going to kill me lol...
PONY MAN 06-22-2010, 08:57 PM Well at least try to burn through a tank of gas, before she hears it. Or shut it off. Open the garage. And gilde on in. Or leave it parked outside. This would only work for so long, I suppose. IMHO
Derekprz 06-22-2010, 10:32 PM my wife is going to kill me lol...
Its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. LOL
blkout 06-23-2010, 08:40 AM Rich Pmed me he is going to post pics of the install before and after and if possible mach up of cat back..........

Now I have this image of Rich pushing his G8 into the garage only to have it roll into the trash barrels lined up against the back wall :D

zepcom 06-23-2010, 07:59 PM All this "my wife will not like the new loud exhaust mod I did to my g8" sounds strikingly familiar to what I went through spanning from Thanksgiving 2009 through January 2010.
By then she was accepting and I was out of the doghouse, for that, at least. :slap:
So I guess I can say "I know how you feel, guys!" :pir_flag:

Yeah do that becasuse I remember they stated could do a mach up.. this would make me hold off on axel backs and just buy full cat back..
LowCal 06-27-2010, 06:24 PM do the solo's sound close to this? he's running 2.25
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijtA4dQM4Gs&feature=related
if they do i want, i don't like most v6 sounds, or if there are better high quality sound bites of the solos

+1 I was like ain't this a biscuit and I just brought my axlebacks and here comes a catback, and I don't have the money to purchase the other. LMBO

He is actually running 2.5",he mentions this on the first comment. Not sure if that means he has a 2.5" cat-back but I think it sounds alot louder than my axel-backs.
LowCal 06-27-2010, 08:50 PM i just re watched it and your right i read it wrong lol. so the solo's are a little tamer?
i just don't want it super loud in the cabin. my colorado i just traded in for my g8 was bad, but sounded good outside
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/LowCal/th_newcoly.jpg (http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/LowCal/?action=view¤t=newcoly.flv)
Schwartz 06-27-2010, 08:58 PM I think that orange beast is running a full 2.5" cat-back,correct me if i'm wrong. That's what i want mine to sound like.Solo muff's alone are tamer, but still give you that deep tone.
LowCal 06-27-2010, 09:02 PM yeah i read all the comments and people asked but no responce, i'm thinkin it's a full cat back along with them aussie headers us north americans can't get.
well i'll see if i can find some shops in Winnipeg here that deal with solo and get some pricing.
