I'm wondering how Pontiac is going to handle options. Will there even be any?

Will it be like the GTO import, where you get tranny choices and maybe a wheel choice... but very limited?

It almost seems like they would have to handle it the same way as the GTO, as I doubt anyone in the states would be willing to wait 4-6 months for a special order, unless they were an enthusiast.

If they are imported the same as the GTO (virtually no options), I'm wondering how well it will be received by a more "mainstream" buying public, as this model of car is aimed towards a much wider demographic, compared to the GTO.

I have a feeling that there will be several packages, each containing the most popular of options, that's it. But that's what most car companies these days are doing anyway.

Yeah, GM would be stupid to handle this car in the way they did the GTO. How many people wanted (& installed) sunroofs? GM should allow for as many options as they can.

I really don't care too much about available options - just give me six-speed, V8, leather and sunroof and I'll be happy. I could care less about navi and some other crap.

I'm not really concerned about options. I am excited about the 6 speed auto (I am short so an auto works best for me) and I HOPE that is does not come with OnStar!!! An IPod hook up would be nifty.

here is what i want in mine and hopefully they can deliver:

v8, m6, heated leather seats, 2 tone, possibly nav, and mp3 player input. basically what we have seen in the pictures already so im happy :)

Well I doubt you will get heated leather seats as it's not an option on models here..

The standard stereo is a 6 in-dash stack MP3 compatible unit. So you can play your burnt CD's full of MP3's and yes the ipod works nicely as does the
rear mount DVD player if thats an option over there.

The 6 speed auto is quite nice and has a few different modes which will change the shift patterns as well as manual changing. However Im loving the manual.. (have driven the auto a few times).

Sunroof is a factory option over here, but was the cause of some delivery delays..

I deff want a sunroof...nav would be kewl...v8 and A6...i also wanna make sure they get a descent stereo in this car

Well, I hear the trunk is pretty big. :D

It looks like the G8 will have most (if not all) of the Commodore SS-V's goodies. Thank goodness (and Lutz!).

I definitely want mine fully loaded.

Heated Seats is big if GM hopes to sell a 35K+ car in any state with winters it has to have it...I can't think of a 25K plus car with leather that doesn't offer it.IMO If they don't offer it I would perfer a cloth interior....

Yea that makes me happy as well. I've been spoiled by the remote start and heated seats on the G6.
