Saw a video on You Tube, dude was test driving a V6. The car didn't have the uplevel radio. When he changed radio stations, it showed up in the ATARI screen. Didn't see any sign of the ATARI gauges though????

If so, couldn't we add the piece from the non uplevel radio there?

It's the same screen. It just shows the gauges if you have the up-level audio system instead of the radio info.

Like he said, its the same gauge, but it displays the radio settings when you change something since there is no display on the radio. I am trying to find a way to get rid of that thing all together, not just make it read something different. But in essence, I guess it is just an LCD screen with some type of BUS running to it to tell it what to say. So if someone spent enough time, they could probably come up with some sort of gizmo that made it show whatever you wanted. But it would still look bad. lol

My Atari unit has been removed. Right now I just have an ugly hole in my dash. :( I'm currently in the process of trying to con someone smarter than me into fitting three 2-1/16" gauges in that spot. :D

I'm pretty sure it was the video of the DJ dude who talked about dual exhausts and didn't know a damn thing about cars. It's in a thread, I'll look for it.

I'd still rather have the radio displayed again than look at the ATARI.

This is a pretty bad cell phone picture, but I finally got my gauges done today.

I understand why people hate the atari-style gauges, but the way people are talking on here, everyone hates the screen altogether! Does no one like the mid-dash DIC look??? Wut about the middle screen in the GP??? Bonneville??? Aurora??? I dont like having to look between the speedometer and tachometer to see info. I rather have it in the middle. It looks more stylish. DICs placed between the speedometer and tach is plain and overused.

well the Bonneville never had the screen you describe, and the screens on the GP and the Aurora where used for other functions, not just to "secondary" gauges.

Oh and personally I hated the GP screen to, But thats just mt opinion...
