Thats what it said when I went to opening day at Milan. If theres a chance of rain, I wont waste my time. And when it rains at Lapeer, the pits turn into a big mud puddle.

If I get my car back from Vector and if the weather holds up, I'll be there.

I don't know, Mike, it looks like it could be a pretty good race? You have a nice mod setup there on your G8 and depending on the weather and hook, we'd probably have a race. With the blower and placement of my air filter, I heat soak quickly and lose hp quickly. Our overall numbers aren't that far off either and after two pulls on the dyno and the heat, we're about the same. When I first bought the car, it had dyno'd around 475, which was before the LTs, but it was very lean on the top and I think the dyno that it was tuned on was a tad number friendly. I had the headers installed and retuned it safely (as its my baby carrier and DD) on what I was told was a conservative dyno and I was pushing about 450/450, but I couldn't get enough fuel after a couple of pulls, even with a BAP. Vector is pullyin it down from 9psi to 7 and bumpin the timing and they're expecting the same numbers without the fuel shortages. We'll see how it goes. Before my headers and retune, I could only get a 12.50 out of the car, even with a great 60' in the 1.7's. My mph was very low though and the dyno was showing that my stall was way too loose, kicking in around 4400, instead of 3200 and still not engaging properly. Last week, I sent it back to FTI and the clutch was bad. They replaced the clutch and tightened back to around 3200, so given my corrected stall issues and some of the changes, I'm expecting to get in the LOW 12's. We'll see? Either way, happy to race ya if I'm there. Its looking like rain, but maybe it'll hold off?

Matt:

Yes, hopefully Saturday will be like about 50 degrees and barometric pressure of about 30 :driving:

Your Procharged G8 is a totall sweet set up. Let me know in a PM or in this thread if your car will be done in time for Saturday.
If not we can do another weekend at Lapeer in May, especially if the weather is not great.

Talk to you later.... :driving:

owensmat (Matt):

Did you get your car back? I'll PM you my cell number......

DA is ~ +714 at Lapeer right now, the rain looks like it should hold off..... ? I'm still planning on leaving at 10am to be there at 12noon.....

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-altitude-calculator.php?temperature=53.1&rh=45&altset=29.92&elevation=827&track=282&month=4&day=24&year=2010&time=7:53 AM

Temp is like 53 degrees and the baro is 29.92, so pretty decent. Still wish we saw that nice negative DA that NJ or Maryland gets..... :(

If I am using my Goodyear All Season RSA's 18's (I know, I know......), what is the optimal air pressure I want in the fronts & rears?

Fronts ~ 40psi & rears ~ 30ish?

or

Fronts ~ 40psi & rears ~ 15psi?

12.51 @ 115.02mph with a 1.97 60' time...... I was hoping for lower 12's, but oh well.

I met Steve aka 09-G8-GT out at the Lapeer Dragstrip. He was definitely a good guy and it was nice to have another G8'er out at the strip.

We both got a lot of runs in. And he is some hi flo cats away from getting into the 12's.....

Definitely a good time out at the track..... :)

I was car 205. Im not sure why I didnt get a MPH on the first pass, but I backed it up. Not bad for a tune, cold air and mufflers.

Yep, you did super good Steve. I'm still pretty damn impressed with a 13.4 stock time, that is one of the best L76 stock times in the nation!

Again, it was nice meeting you & your peeps :)

The 2nd slip is you (205) vs. me (206), thanks for not posting one of my "oops" runs, like the one or two that you beat me.... lol :driving:

Once those high flow cats are on, you are totally in the 12's! I wonder is you should have Steve and or Kirk retune you to capture that mod?

Before or if you go cam, just do that Faster Proms Stage 2 ported intake manifold, then you be more into the 12's and most likely very consistantly.....

Steve your signature says "hi flo cars" instead of cats.....

I like that avitar picture of yours. Is that from yesterday? Looks really good. I shoulda had Mike take a picture of mine like that...... Cool.....
