Buy bigger screws! Sounds like they're too small for the size of the hole.

Mine get tight and I have had them on and off the car 3 times, sounds like your plastic part is stripped.

Yea, was hoping someone would tell me it was supposed to be that way. The screws are self-tapping type, about a #8, 3/4" or so (without looking). Anyone recall what size theirs are?

I would have the dealer replace the inserts if your worried about it. Those inserts cost about $.30.
