I bought my Liquid Red GT two weeks ago and I had the smokers kit installed, ordered my GT dash rug for my trips to Vegas, and yesturday I took her in to be tinted. I live in California so the laws do not permit the two front windows to be tinted. Well, I had the two front windows tinted.LMAO. I had 50% put on the front and 20% in the back windows. I'm just waiting to be stopped:(. What can I say, I just can't justify not tinting the front and doing the back... The front ones have that uva, uvb protectant stuff, but you can tell they have been tinted. Anyways I would post pictures, but have no clue how to do it on this forum:). Hope ALL is doing good:)

I had 70% put on my fronts today - I had 70% on another vehicle and it's not very noticable. 50% might be a problem, but who knows. When I was along for a ride with the CHP, we did one enforcement stop for tint on a Jaguar. It was pretty dark though, around 20%.
I was told that the stop was to get a few tint tickets under their belt to show versatility with their enforcement. I can understand that, but as a rule of thumb I pointed out two other vehicles that had tint, and we didn't do a darn thing. The CHP is quite forgiving from the ride alongs I have participated on. For example looking for someone doing 95 in a 70 was our target, since the flow of traffic was maintaining mostly 80-85. It's really hit or miss, that's why I went with 70%. With my darker car, and dark interior, it's not always easy to tell if the windows are tinted, and having an obvious seperation from the rears to the fronts helps as well interms of tint levels.
There is a reason for tint laws.
Its unsafe and I would sue your arse for having an unsafe vehicle on the road if you got into an accident.

Yeah there is, it's called OFFICER SAFETY. 70% and above is very hard to see. Also a tid bit of information regarding the OFFICER SAFETY comment is that on vehicles that are not running a 5% or limo tint, an officer can spot light, or use the overheads to illuminate the interior of the car in such a way that they can easily see inside. I never run a super dark tint for this very reason, I'm not trying to hide anything, just make the car look a bit better, and to cut down on heat/UV.
Sue our arse? haha.. Got to love America. Full of a bunch of sue happy asshats. It's not about right or wrong, it's about getting money in ones pocket. You could easily say that it's "Unsafe to have 361hp on rubber wheels". Yada, yada.
And then to say that the "Tint Laws" which are to create safe driving enviornments should be COUNTRY wide and not dependant on the state. Oh we want interstate commerce to take place, vacations, blah, blah blah. But I can't take my car with my legal tints from Arizona to California without being busted down? You saying that in Arizona, it's magically safer to drive a car with all the windows tinted, than it is here in California? That's right, we drive on the other side of the road here... not.

Well down in the south if you have a hoopty with limo tint or a G8 with limo tint guess who they will stop :) All my cars had at least 20% on them and never got a ticket for tint. But Im not putting tint on the g8 looks fine just the way it is.

Front 32%, back 16%.
Legal in TX, and boy does it make a difference in this heat!

Yup. Tint does help a lot with the heat, especially on a dark car with dark interior. When I had my Mercury Marauder, tinting was the first thing I had done.
