ToMiT@ 06-26-2007, 11:23 PM For some reason, I figure that Cadillac will get 500+ HP in the CTS-V. I would LOVE an LS7 in a G8...a dream come true!! I can always hope!!!
But if I can just get an LS3 in a G8 GXP with something like 430 HP, that would be okay!! :-)
veritasatis 06-27-2007, 12:53 AM There is a rumor floating around that the CTS-V may get around 600 hp. Of course, how many automobile rumors actually come true. :(
Mike P 06-27-2007, 02:38 AM Awesome! No way I could afford it though, so I'll just have to mod my G8
DevilYellow 06-27-2007, 10:16 AM If HSV does an GTS-R it will cost well over $100,000. Possibly even more.
The CTS-V (new body) is expected to run an LSA (Baby LS9)? As I have read hints that it would be supercharged.
Money is on the G8 GXP having the LS3.

Agreed. The G8 GXP will not have more HP available than the CTS-V.

In stock form, at least. ;) The aftermarket will work for performance solutions for the LS-series engines. The easy part is that all of the LS-based variations will fit. L76 out, LS3 built to 427 CID in. :driving:

So true. The G8 will be a fairly easy to mod car. I like the 427cid idea.

Hey i'm with you on this.
deuce189 07-20-2007, 10:43 AM but yeah then you have to consider the fact that car will be 50k+ if it gets the ls7. I just hope they have a 400hp application b/c that the only reason i'm not turning lose my goat right now for one, we need a commodore GTS equivalant. Why oh why they give it the truck motor as the only option BAH!!!

It won't be $50k if you put your own 427 engine in. The LS3 option might come later.
Forced induction will easily get the hp up without messing with engine size.
Fatty R8 01-02-2008, 09:00 AM I've read in a magazine (December's Issue of Wheels Magazine, for anyone in Australia) that a Melbourne-Based company called Corsa Specialized Vehicles can fit a LS7 Engine into any E-Series HSV Vehicle (that the customer will provide) for AUD$35000.
It's possible that the G8 can be fitted with the LS7 Engine. It'd be easy for you Americans to get hold of the engine & to get someone to fit it in.
Or you can just wait until a HSV 427 GTS-R reaches the American market.
