First off, this is a non DOD camshaft kit. We have been working on some new cam profiles and have developed an excellent cam for the G8 GT owner who wants to retain their stock converter.
Total cost of this kit, including all parts necessary to convert to a non DOD/AFM system is $1385.
This camshaft has excellent driveability and fuel mileage is barely changed. Idle quality is excellent and the car drives almost like stock, but makes more than 120 HP & 95 lb/ft Torque over stock!
The cam is a 222/234 on a 116. The lift is .608"/.618". This is a cam that we have special made for us.
The increased lift takes advantage of the excellent flow rate of the LS3 style head. You would think that the cam being ground on a 116 would kill top end power, but it does not.
The car makes over 420 HP at 6000 RPM and holds 420 HP until the 6800 RPM cut-off. On top of that we are over 300 lb/ft of torque at 3150 RPM and do not drop below 330 lb/ft until the 6800 RPM cut-off. The car peaks at 387 lb/ft and pretty much is above 380 lb/ft of torque from 4550 to 5600 RPM.
All of this means a very powerful smooth power band from a pretty mild camshaft.
We also have a version of this cam for G8's with at least a 2800 RPM converter that should make 20-30 more HP and still retain excellent driveability and fuel mileage. Zero surging or bucking.
