This kid comes up to me and has a 2009 Chevy Cobalt and the key is stuck in the ignition with the car running. He went to the dealership but they tell him to come back Monday, the service section is closed, then Onstar tells him sorry there nothing they can do, so he comes to me.... A friend of mine had the same problem with her Cobalt, switch was on engine was not running but radio was on. Had the car carried to dealer on rollback and they replaced the ignition switch something to do with the steering wheel lock.There is a pin or something that had slipped out and had the key wedged in place so it could not be moved either to the on or off position. Should be a warranty issue.

Could have covered the air intake and choked off the airflow. If it's a clutch car, just stall it.
