: Any New HID KIt Info
AOCAS-NY 06-01-2008, 09:57 PM Does anyone know a good name brand HID kit for the G8/GT?
I hate the blue look on the lights. It looks extremely fake. I would like the lights to look like the ones my previous car (infiniti G35 coupe).

I went with their 55W kit using H11 bulbs in 5000k. That will give a very white light. I got the kit, harness, and their lifetime warranty. I received it the other day, and the quality looks very decent for the price. They are a sponsor on the forum.

If you want the stock color, stay around 43000k.

The blue color has nothing to do with the brand name of the lights. It's all about the light "temperature."
I have 6000k's in my GTO and they are pure white. A buddy has 8000K's in his GTO and they look blue.

G8 Ray 06-02-2008, 06:10 AM Also, as color temp goes up, light output diminishes.

Driving at night with my 6000k's, you'd never be able to convince me of that! :wink2:

Smtkd 06-02-2008, 12:22 PM I here ya. My 8000K are far way brighter at night than stock! Im think of going with 6000k later though.

I could convince you if you took output shots of a 4300K kit and the 6000K. 6000K is the highest I would go before output drops off too far.
Where is everyone mounting the ballasts?

Thanks for the info, i will definitely check it out. Can you post pics after you install?
unixadm 06-02-2008, 09:24 PM Sure can. I'll probably install them this coming weekend when I put my new wheels on and paint the calipers.

Is that color similar to the infiniti head lights? Im not too familiar with kits, my last two cars had xeonon factory lights.
1. 03' Infiniti G35 Sedan
2. 04' Infiniti G35 Coupe

Ok cool, Im eager to buy a kit for my car. I hate the way the head lights look. The car would look alot better with the HID lights.

But i thought the 6000k had too much blue? I hate the blue look. My personal opinion on the blue lights, is that it makes the car look cheap. I dont mind a slight blue tint like infiniti. Thats what i miss most about my infiniti. my xenon head lights. I remember everytime i saw a car with really blue head lights, i would say wow that person is trying too hard.
unixadm 06-02-2008, 11:40 PM I feel the same way, that's why I choose 5000k.
Smtkd 06-02-2008, 11:42 PM No the 8000k has the most Blue. 6000K is Super White with a small hint of blue!
