So i purchased this Alpine tmx-r700 video monior for my silverado awhile back but never got a chance to install it. Since traded truck for my G8. My 6yr old asks the other day will i get to watch movies in our new car? So came across the old monitor and decided to bring it in the car and look for options. Although normally cars dont have overhead Im certain this will work and not look crappy. There is over 2" of dead space above the head liner. So aligning my Alpine unit i find it fits between the lowered section of the roof liner its black matching interior and has intergrated domelights not cluttering ceiling. Ive included pics. I've measured depth and have a plan for fastening overhead bracket. So all things considered should go well. But that initial cut into the headliner will be tough....ehhh....

opinions please.
thanks

That doesn't look bad at all. Take a pic with it fully installed and cleaned up. So far looks great though

The only drawback would be the rear view sight line, but minivans must have that too (don't own a video system). Looks cool.

They do? For Holdens I assume? Are they proven to fit and work in ours?

I've seen them advertised for the Holdens, I just assumed they'd fit, as why would Pontiac change out the seats.

Dunno that they would but one never knows.

Is the monitor self-contained? Do you place the DVD directly in the unit? Where is sound coming from, the unit or the car stereo? Is it headphone enabled?

Yes monitor woul be nearly flush with the headliner prob hang down 3/8". No this is a monitor only comes with a pod that allows 3 a/v input options that are selected on screen. This pod has an output also that could be amplified. However i will use the 2 supplied wireless head sets. Primarily will be used by 6yr old. So headphones are perfect.

Still trying to find time to work on this:(
one day.
