: Gum on floor mat

My passenger must have stepped on gum the other day because he left a little on my passenger floor mat.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out? It's not much but enough to notice.

Thanks

Put some ice on the gum to make it get cold and harden, and most of it will come off pretty easily. Repeat as necessary. You may have to cut the last of it out with a razor knife.

Freeze spray (from an electronics store) if they still sell it. If not, get some "Dust-off" and hold the can upside-down when you spray it.

I once put the whole mat in the freezer for 2 days, the gum almost flipped off by finger. Then had to trim just a few fibers, good as new.

Kill your friend for bringing gum in your car. what a butt pirate. make him/her pay by buying you a supercharger. I think thats fair.

I like the supercharger idea, but I will try putting the whole thing in the freezer. Wife might not like it in there but she'll get over it.

I hate people riding with me because of stuff like that. They don't do it on purpose but every time someone rides with me, something else happens.

Thanks

In that case im going to make sure i spit my gum out so my friend stops on and gets on my floor mat lol.

Really though just get the area real cold with whatever method you want and it should come off easily.

there is a product specifically made for this...but for the life of me i can't remember the name of it...friend of mine used it to get the gum out of the suede on the seat of his 04 cobra...couldn't tell it was ever there when he got done...i'll see if i can get the product name from him...

Best product I have found for that purpose is Goo Gone "Automotive Use" from Autozone. It does not harm fabric in GM cars. I used it to remove those annoying airbag labels and it takes the adhesive off without any damage to the fabric. Get the one that has the "citrus" scent. Make sure it says "automotive use" at the top. It is versatile stuff...it can also be used to remove badge adhesives, bug guts off the grill, tar... etc., :oldfogey:
