Anybody know yet what colors will be available on the G8? Any sample paint chips out there, or should we just go to the Holden site to see what's available on the VE?

I know one option is grey. :D

That is a nice blue and non-metallic is easy to touch up if you ding it :eek:

+1... i've always liked that color, and would have to get a G8 in that if it's offered. Otherwise it'll probably be black unless there's a neat color like SRM or BOM available on it.

I think the G8 would look extremely good in Morpheus too.

I'd like a white one. But black or an extremely dark blue, BMW like, would be good too.

I like the Phantom metalic color.

If they offer it in Midnight Blue Metallic, I'd snap it up fast. As much as I don't like to gain the attention of everyone on the road, I also like the Ignition Metallic.

Black of course would be teh sick choice! Some kind of Electron Blue metallic would be the ducks guts though..

This is close to what the red G8 will actually look like. Pretty hot IMO

I've owned too many silver cars and have gotten tired of the color. In fact I wish my GTO was Impulse Blue. I think if I were to get a G8 I would either get Red or Blue.

I just priced one out on the holden site with all the options I would want. 20's nav, sunroof, nice logo floor mats, etc

$48,196 after converting aus to us currency. We can't be looking at almost 50k for a Pontiac.

Based on the numerous discussions on this board citing the marketplace and quotes by Bob Lutz, estimates have the GT V6 starting at $25k and the V8 version estimated at starting somewhere in the $29-30k range.

I wouldn't put all my faith in Edmunds when GM's dealerworld does not have anything up yet. The GTO came in Holden colors. :aus_flag: We have already seen the G8 in bright red which looks very much like the "aggressive" on Solstice and Victory Red on Colorado (same color on each and used to be a GP color). If Pontiac won't paint this car "victory red" instead of those two stupid reds on the GP, then they may lose a sale.

I agree. As you said, I would not expect the colors to be offered different then the colors for the outgoing Commodore's, but I do think that could change with the move of the G8's production to Canada.

If someone down under can come up with the codes for the touch-up paint on teh Holden colours, I can convert them into US colors so you can see what you might get. For example, from the 2006 GTO

It's dirty looking. I bothered to email Pontiac requesting Fusion/Brazen be offered on this car and was referred to gm.com's idea referral site only to find you have to be from a supplier.

I pray we get Brazen instead.

Brazen just happens to be the name of the new for 2008 color offering on the Solstice. But the chip code is not the same as the GTO. And not the same as orange on '06 Colorados. Maybe Holden touch-up codes don't translate from Aussie to American. Commodore owners, please look in the back of your owner's manual and search for W-502Q. (Brazen)

Trishield, to me, the Brazen looks like rust or some kind of gold'ish mixture? not appealing.


achieftain, I've looked through the manual but I can't find a section or table with the codes of colors.

immortal - how 'bout a trip to your dealer and ask them for part numbers or codes for the touch-up paint for teh various colours under question. I'll bet somewhere you have the equivalent of dealerworld as well where teh dealer orders and specs the cars. Somewhere in there should be (fingers crossed) more information. I'll see if I can drive-by the dealership and get the codes straight from them but in the mean time I found these codes in a brochure I picked up of the Commodore VE:

Ignition Metallic: 77U
Phantom Metallic: 80U
Nickel Metallic: 14U
Morpheous Metallic: 28U

As you can see Impulse blue is missing.. I'll check with the dealer on these codes and ask about the Impulse Metallic.

Maybe "K-Pow" will turn out to be a brilliant move by GM marketing. So many people are going to discuss what that color is supposed to mean. Is Pontiac going after the hip-hop crowd like with Cadillac? Is it a tribute to one of the "K" artists; K-Solo, K-OS, etc? Did 50 Cent come up with the name? Is he going to be the new Pontiac spokesman, like Tiger with Buick or Funkmaster Flex with Ford? I don't think they'd show the manual in the fleet pictures if we weren't going to get it sometime...

K-Pow ("Keh-Pow", like a comic strip punch effect) is probably a new name for Impulse Blue.

On the colour range we get white but not evoke. Evoke is really nice and looks HOt in the HSV's.....

Those 20" wheels are the optional wheel, they are a 20x8 with 245/35/20 tyres. I ordered my car with those wheels optioned up on it but have changed them since as every man and his dog is putting them on their VE's over here.

I just wanted something a bit different.

They are OEM but optional. My SSV came with 19" wheels and tyres. I optioned up to the 20's when I bought the car.

Hey, I have sunburst orange cobalt SS and wouldn't mind another orange car but that white is high on my list.

My salesman called me 2 weeks ago when they got in there first G8. It was an 888. I owned a 1992 blk 3.4 liter quad cammer, I could'nt do the blk again too much work to keep up with it. So i bought a Magnetic gray mettalic G8-GT nice color.

I will have to see it in person first. I hope its good

Saw it in person today! Definitely Orange, much more Orange than any pics on here. Its more Orange than Sunset Orange Metallic, but less so than Fusion Orange Metallic. Very nice. Bummer on the two tone interior (or lack of it...)

Hopefully the GXP fixes that.

Too bad the dealership was closed (although there were three other people looking all at the G8s!) I wanted a test drive....
