Most of you know our engineers have been hard at work adding new features lately to all of our platforms, one project that is finally finished is adding ~460 new transmission parameters for the A6 which includes but is not limited to the Corvette, G8 & many trucks/suv's. Now with over 1000 editable tables & parameters for most calibrations we are confident we have one of if not thee most complete commercially available software package for tuning these vehicles.

In light of this for those who would like a glimpse of the added goodness I present to you the A6 parameter walk through which will show you all of the current & newly added parameters for the TCM.

Cool walkthrough but the torque management stuff hasnt changed, still on or off apparently :(

Yeah, but if you look in the other pane, earlier on, it looks like there are tables for "desired torque" and a few other tables that mess with the same thing. So, although they have TQM on/off, it appears as though they also can change the values.

Yeah, although that menu location is wierd (otherwise you'd think it would be in the TM tab?) I guess we'll see! :D

Good to see.

What was the final decision on if GM dealerships can actually see if you have and after market tune in the car or if it had an after market tune at one time and was flashed back to stock?

cool stuff! is this integrated in with 2.22? or is this for future release?

Awesome! I am taking my '09 to RevHard in Rock Island IL so I hope they upgrade so I can have them do this for me...

I have heard SO many complaints of how this is a slush box so seeing this makes me happy!

Its already integrated in with the latest compile of 2.22

What is the desired up shift time? Can you please elaborate on that? Is that how my millaseconds it take for the TCM to read the shift?

You can measure this with a datalogger. Look from the initial transmission solenoid changes to the point that the engine RPM's finally match the new ratio.

This is the time from initiation of the shift to completion of the shift. Pressure is applied to the oncoming gear (clutch) and released from the outgoing. It takes time for one set of clutches to release and the other set to engage. Eventually the the ratio change is completed.

Adaptive logic in the computer adjusts pressures to attempt to perform the shift in the time commanded. Too short of time makes an abrupt shift, which can damage driveline components. Too long, makes it soft and sluggish. Obviously you'd want more time under light accel and less for heavy accel.

John, I looked at your site and had some trouble figuring out your credit system. How much would it actually cost me to get everything I need to tune one G8 as often as I want to (forever)?

Interesting. So under WOT and normal driving the shifting times are different?

I am not with any tuning company, just an enthusiast who tunes his own stuff.

Questions about cost are best directed to the company or person that you would buy it from, privately. IMHO an open forum is not the best place to ask cost questions. Features, functionality and results.

Yes, look at the video link. There are more than just part throttle and wot shift duration settings available.

sorry, thought you were with HPTuners.

I have a guy that has been doing wonders with me car and HP Tuners. He has seperate shift settings for normal mode and sport mode. With adaptive pressure it shifts differently based on throttle (and other parameters of course). It take a lot of messing around, I couldn't tell you numbers, but the car is totally different and MUCH faster and funner to drive. Barking the 1-2 ad 2-3 shift is always cool. I was told it takes 1 or 2 credits to tune your car(single vin) forever. We have not deleted torque management in the shifts, just dumbed it down a bit. There is a lot to learn, but once you do it is endless as to what you can do.
