I just bought the Mr Clean Carwash and was wondering if other carwash soaps would work. I've read one member has used another soap instead of the "Mr Clean" soap and it was all good, but I can't find that thread to get the name. Anyone have experience with using different carwash soaps with the Mr Clean unit?

I have tried some different soaps with my Mr. Clean and had mixed results. Most of them left some spots even though the filter was new. However I have found the Rain-X Foaming Car Wash Concentrate with spot reduction works quite well. I bought a Gilmour 75QGFMR Foam Gun, and I squirt a little bit of the Mr. Clean car wash solution in the container, and then I fill the rest with the Rain-X concentrate. It works great and leaves no spots. So the Mr. Clean wash will last me a long time and I'm not even sure if I need to mix it - I just did it for piece of mind because it does help keep the spots down. Washing with the foam gun and a microfiber sponge works quite well too, especially on setting C.

I'm going to buy a CR Spotless system from Costco to replace the Mr. Clean system completely.
