As some of you might be aware of, I have been known to, on very rare occasions, complain about my slight wheel hop. /sarcasm
Since every modification I did to the car seemed to make the wheel hop a little worse I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a set GForce axles. I had initially ordered the chromoly version but when Chris told me the 300M were the first batch I decided to upgrade. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about the axles again and that means a lot to me. One less item to stress about.
Brand: GForce 1320 300M Racing Axles (http://www.shop.gforce1320.com/product.sc?productId=90&categoryId=23)
Price: $1999.00
Purchased From: Chris at GForce http://www.shop.gforce1320.com/
Installation: The installation was very involved and if it wasn't for Eric (esinger), and his friend who had every tool known to man, helping me I wouldn't have been able to do this. We used the installation procedure from the G8 service manual that I got from Greg at Pace. That made the install much smoother than it would have been trying to "wing it". I would not recommend this install unless you have the proper tools. A lift isn't 100% necessary but it sure did make it easier.
Installation Time: The install took approximately 4+ hours. Since this was my first axle swap it probably took longer than it would have taken someone that does this for a living.
Any Installation Tips You Have: Get the G8 service manual before you attempt this and you will need a giant torque wrench (one that goes to 266 ft/lbs) and a puller to get the caliper off of the factory axle.
Quality of Part: I give the quality of these axles a 10. They could be show axles right out of the box. Chris clearly takes pride in his products. You can see and feel the quality of these axles.
Product Performance: So far, these axles have lived up to the billing and hype. I give them a 10 in that respect too. I can enjoy my car again and that is worth a LOT to me.
Would you Recommend to Others: If you go to the track with any regularity or if you have wheel hop then these axles are the only way to go! If you just drive your car to and from work then you might not need this upgrade just yet.
Any Other Comments: Chris was great to work with. He answered my questions and delivered the product that he promised. If all vendors were this easy to deal with there would never be any issues. Thanks Chris!
