ToneyTone 07-05-2007, 03:17 PM Like I've said before I wouldn't be mad at all with the LS3 but the LS7 would be all the better.
immortal 07-05-2007, 06:44 PM DAMN! the LS3 sure does OWN!!

Sorry, but the LS7 going into a production G8 is all but possible.

Gee Eight 07-06-2007, 08:06 AM Wow! Those are really good numbers! I really hope they put the LS3 into the G8.
Cool_Hand_Luke 07-06-2007, 08:28 AM Excellent numbers.
Let's hope for the LS3.
tmoneyr007 07-13-2007, 06:48 AM Headers (No Cats)/Intake/Camshaft..... Still Not Tuned!

Gee Eight 07-13-2007, 07:19 AM What are the specs on that cam? That car will make over 500 rwhp when tuned.

LG never releases cam specs, they said it's big, they have I think 3 smaller and one or two larger to try. This is R&D Cam 1 for the LS3 though, so I'm sure power will increase. I'm not impressed with the gain in torque vs just headers though. The tune should pick it up some. G8 with 4,000 lbs will need more torque than the 3,100 lb vette.
Gee Eight 07-13-2007, 11:37 AM With just headers/intake the LS3 made 350 ft lbs of torque at 2300 rpms. That is 75 more than stock at the same rpm. That is pretty impressive untuned. Forget about peak numbers...it's the curve that counts. ;)

350+ ft/lbs from 2,300-6,300 :bubbrubb:

I can't argue with that

Yep, it is the most logical choice for the GXP. I will wait for it.

Gee Eight 07-20-2007, 09:11 AM Nice peak HP numbers but I'm a bit disappointed in the TQ. The LS3 is 6.2L. I've seen the 6.0L make more TQ with a very similar cam (G5X4). That's only 80 ft# over the stock engine. It only looks like 40# at 3500 rpms difference. More is good...no doubt...but I was hoping for more TQ with the larger displacement.

Not on stock heads/intake.... maybe with 58cc AFR 205's running 11.5:1 and a ported FAST Intake

Yeah, my friend's setup is very similar to that.
