: American Racing Headers G8 Header Systems Are Coming!!!
American Racing Headers 06-09-2008, 04:11 PM Folks we just completed our long tube headers and they're quite a sight to behold. We're now finishing up the balance of the system which will be cause for celebration. These G8's by far have the single most restrictive exhaust system we've ever seen.
Those that know about ARH's products know that we make every effort to produce systems that truly stand out and these G8 systems I assure you won't disappoint.
Though I don't have photo's and pricing to share at this moment, I will have something to show you by Wednesday. A quick little tease is that our headers are very close to equal length at 32" and feature or fully welded merge collectors. The installation of the entire system is cake and expect nothing less than 100% U.S. made 304 S/S throughout. Stay tuned as photo's are coming. Thanks.

racerx 06-09-2008, 07:06 PM Signe me up as well..but i have 2 questions:
1. I did notice that the exhaust have that 90 degree bend after the cats, where will the cats be located on this?
2. Will this boltup to my Magnaflow system or will I have to scrap the whole thing and get a new exhaust?
thanks...
wreckwriter 06-09-2008, 07:12 PM yea, question of the day: lots of us already bought Magnaflow cat-back systems. How much tweaking to add your headers to that installed package?
American Racing Headers 06-09-2008, 08:10 PM Guys, If your mufflers are made to bolt directly to the factory center section than it should bolt directly to our system. We ran our system to the factory rear mufflers for those that want to retain them. I'm pretty sure the performance muffler folks will have direct replacement mufflers.
Like our GTO systems, our cats are located immediately after the collectors. Aside from the one set of necessary bends located after the rear axle, the balance is very free flowing. We're truly expecting some serious gains with this system and can't wait to finish it up.

Josh@ARH 06-09-2008, 10:42 PM ARH is great, I have their headers on my GTO and on my dads Vette. On my GTO with a quick tune I picked up 27rwhp and 32rwtq. Honestly between tuning the G8 for 93 and headers, I would expect about 40-50rwhp.
Here are some pics from when I had my GTO in their shop.

Mike @ New Era 06-09-2008, 10:45 PM ARH is the best , I have been waiting for these !
97DARKKNIGHT 06-10-2008, 06:55 AM Just a thougt but if you guys arent too concerned and can get a program that eliminates the C.E.L. for the cats, consider gutting those cats to free it all up.:driving:
h3llphyre 06-10-2008, 07:31 AM Like our GTO systems, our cats are located immediately after the collectors.

So, these are aftermarket cats and we ditch our stockers? Any idea on pricing, like ballpark numbers? With included cats, I'd expect a pretty decently high price, considering the price of the catalysts (platinum or palladium)
4gasem 06-10-2008, 10:27 AM Is it worth losing your warranty and aren't leaks with headers a pain in the back side???
All just questions...:)
BSmith 06-10-2008, 10:43 AM You shouldn't have any problems with leaks on a quality built header. Thick flanges for the win!

Why would you lose your warranty? Unless the headers are melting wires, I don't see a problem here.

A dealer can give you a hard time but headers dont really affect much.
I never have had a leak with my ARH's and dont know anyone who has. These arent cheap $400 headers.
wreckwriter 06-10-2008, 07:51 PM These arent cheap $400 headers.
Guess that gives us one answer....
Xavier1 06-10-2008, 08:08 PM cant wait to see dyno numbers.
American Racing Headers 06-10-2008, 08:37 PM No these certainly aren't cheap headers and leaks will never be an issue or we'll replace part in question. These systems are made to last a very very long time. With regards to warantee, I believe most dealers won't have an issue with the swap. One things for sure, your G8 won't mind either. This system, along with a good tune and CAI is what the doctor ordered.
