nope, but i did play football and go to classes sometimes at WVU... WV is a beautiful state and gets a bad rap... its only the SW part that connects with VA and KY that is the bad part, and VA and KY's bad eggs live in that region too...

wow, you are in the middle of nowhere though, but that area is particularly beautiful... btw i grew up in roanoke, VA...

that is cool. I live in the million dollar coal field and I live on the border of KY. It's not so bad the mountains are beautiful.

i was a TE there in the '02 and '03 season... i never played in a real game though, ruptured my achilles in '03 mid-season which ended my playing career...

I understand about the achilles thing. I ruptured mine around the same timeframe playing basketball.:(
So you where there towards the beginning of the Rich Rod era. What do you think about all the mess around him leaving and the owed 4 million?

i thought he was a piece of **** when he was there, he just furthered that point walking out on the team before the season was over... what he did was on the same level as what petrino did to the falcons... he is a greedy ***** and i hope michigan never sees an 8 win season under him(although that is rather unlikely)... stewart is a great coach, i love how everyone says he failed as a head coach the last time he was a head coach... yeah he did, but it was b/c he was at VMI, who can't win a damn thing b/c they have D3 athletes playing in D1-AA football... WVU will be better this year then they were last i feel... stealing holliday from FL and the OC from wake forest were significant moves, and will pay off this season...

I agree with you 100%. It is just interesting getting a former players point of view. RR has an innovative system but when it gets figured out he seems to show no ability to make in game adjustments. His success the past couple seasons can be attributed to Pat White and Steve Slaton, without them he would have been in big trouble. I think WVU will be better off in the long run with Bill Stewart.

You might not have had much of a career at WVU anyway since I am not sure RR knew what a TE was. :wink2:

I can second this. A couple of my best friends played FB at WVU (grew up with them and were roommates with them through school at WVU). I was around the program some and caught on around 2003 that Rodriguez was disingenuine. What is your name Atlas?

I remember lance and james, i know mr dirty was a senior when i was a true frosh and i think lance was too, but i didn't know either of them toooo well.... plus i didnt start getting called Atlas til the '03 season, so they may have only known me as a tackling dummy...

I'm originally from Preston County, which is about 3.5 hours from where I'm at now. I grew up about 35 miles from Morgantown and still follow the Mountaineers. Glad to see Rod go and hope he never wins a game again...

Another WV member here. Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. Checking in from the Madison/Danville area..... so southern, but not southernmost. I'm surprised at the numer of WVers on this board.

.... Actually, how high. It's not really a lot of people, but the board I used to frequent had 2 active WV members, and I was one of them.

While heading west, I saw today a MSM GT and White Hot GT heading east on US 22 in PA within minutes of each other.

I'll be moving to Scott Depot (near Hurricane) in a few weeks. Can I safely claim fastest G8 in the state?

To any long term residents of W.Va, during a winter stay at Canaan Valley, I had heard about a highway project. I believed that was referred to as Q4, an interstate connecter running N.W. to S.W. cut through the mountains, It was a controversial proposal. Is it going to be built. BTW I'm from the Ohio River Valley near Wheeling, W.Va.

Wreckwriter. Welcome to God's country. Since your mods are at least half the price of my car, I'll gladly concede defeat.

Move-over, what part of Wheeling?
