Hey guys,
I wanted to know if you had to let off of the gas to manual shift or can keep the pedal to the floor and shift.I'm curious about damage to any engine or driveline componets. Thanks

You do not have to let off the gas when shifting. The software and transmission are designed for full throttle use. It even protects itself against over-revs on downshifts.

Lol you can let off if you want the auto to feel like a manual, no harm in that :)

When I try to use the manual shift, it always hits the rev limiter. I shift it too the next gear and its takes about three seconds before it shifts. I either keep it in auto or sport mode, never manual. Does this happen to anyone else?

My Gt does the same thing , it really doesn't help performance, I lost 1 sec. vs sport mode in the 1/4 mile.

It isn't meant for drag racing, its more for curvy roads in more of an autocross situation. it helps you hold what gear you want to power out of corners or downshift before you get there. And if you hit the rev limiter, then you shifted too late.

What rpm is the limiter set at ? I took a co worker for a spin at lunch, jumped on it and it ran over 6k quick. I never really thought of it as an issue, but he pointed out that there is no red line on the tach.

Your car doesn't have a Redline.
It's special.
It was made to go to the limit.
