I went to Vector's yesterday to have my G8 dyno tuned.
Kirk tried their base tune, a roto-fab tune, but ended up modifying the tune for my New Era intake.
I have the sheets.
Baseline on their dyno:
Max Power 302.3 @5800 rpm
Max Torgue 304.4 @4500 rpm

After tune
Max Power 332.5 @5700 rpm
Max Torque 331.3 @ 4600 rpm

Kirk, thanks for working on getting that last couple of degrees. Turned some heads at the local office here.

My other mods: New Era Performance Intake, Stolen Fox H pipe, Magnaflow axle backs.

Good numbers. After I do the HSRK, Underdrive pulley, Roto Fab Add on, and Headers. I'm definitely going to go back to Vector Motorsports and get a specific dyno tune done.

Kirk is great!

Hey G8 Ray: When you guys did your runs on the dyno (to get your horsepower & torque numbers), did you run it in normal mode, sport shift, or manual?

Thanks.........

Mike, Kirk at Vector does 4th gear pulls. That means he has it in manual mode, then shifts into 4th, and starts the test at a certain rpm.

It looks like the pull in 4th gear is a more accurate representation of the car's power & torque. My numbers are kind of low compared to everyone else that has a tune & cai. I still think I got a turd from the assembly plant.

When I ran it in Manual Mode in 4th gear I got:
Max Horsepower = 318.3 and Max Torque = 329.2

When I ran it in Sport Mode today I got:
Max Horsepower = 373.8 and Max Torque = 345.9

I would think the 329 torque is more accurate. No one is running 378 hp to the wheels without boost.

Nice! I muffed the VMS tune when my laptop locked up in the middle of the D/L. I have the H pipe and New Era too. Baseline at CarbConn here in the Seattle area was right at 300/300 with the muffed ECM. They do the same type of pull...4th gear M.

The TCM tune is awesome tho'.

Kirk, Chris,

This tune friggin rocks! I doubted mileage gain. I am glad I never posted my doubt because I would be eating crow.
I did my usual route from home to Mason, OH this morning. When I got off of I275 my avg. mileage was at 28! My best on this route was 24.1. It dropped off to 27.6 when I hit OH 42 and some traffic and hills.
93 was 4.25 this morning, 87 was 4.09
16 cents a gallon difference. Awesome is all I can say.
150 mile trip

Just to update on the mileage on my G8. I left Cincinnati around 1:30 today on 92 octane. My tune was for 93. I was easy on the car, and hit the interstate for home. 156 miles later with the a/c running, I clocked 27.6 mpg.

I have it Mike. I'm getting ready for the track right now. I'll take a photo of it later and post it up.

I am looking for pictures of what you guys with the roto-fab cai did to open the front of your car. did you drill into the from honeycomb next to the fog light or did you go underneath the front end and drill. Really seems like it needs to be opened up. The roto-fab stuff is nice but the car needs to give it better airflow???????
