Didn't quite fit in the other tint threads.

I took my G8 to LA Tint in NOVA (Manassas, VA) this morning to check out the work they have done. They had no vehicles for me to look at and I questioned a couple of things they said. A couple of things they said that I am questioning.

1. They tint G8's all of the time. :bs:
2. They do not tint the black dots at the top of the rear window.

Can anyone verify if they should or should not tint the black dots on the top of the rear window? How does it look? I have looked at all of the pics on the forum, but no close ups of the black dots.

Thanks for any in site.

Oh yeah, just ordered RF CAI from Haddad this morning. Should go good with the Magnaflow cat-back.:driving:

Shops that are usually understated and not 'bragtastic' are the places I try to find. If they do G8's all the time, tell them the next time they do one, to call you up so you can check it out. I bet you don't get a call for a while.

As for the tint, everything on my back window is tinted, with the exception of the CHMSL. It's a pain in the ass to remove, so I didn't ask for them to remove it and tint under it. It's the only car I've had that I didn't tint under the CHMSL.

The guys I used locally did an awesome job tinting my car. It's the best tint job I've ever seen, very clear, very clean, perfect edges. I went with 3M tint which costs a bit more, 20% rears, 70% up front.

unixadm, thanks for the feedback. I am going to do some more shopping around. I am afraid of getting a poor tint job which will make my G8 look like crap.

The dot matrix stuff on the back window does present a problem for tinting. Maybe the best guys can get it done but you're likely to be able to see some imperfections in that part. Try putting "tint dot matrix" in google.

They tinted over the "dot matrix" on my Grand Prix and it looks fine to me and I'm considered to be picky when it comes to my car.

I suggest Sun Stoppers if they are in your area. They did my car and it looks bad @ss.
