Do we know whether the V6 will have an LSD standard or available?
And do we know whether StabiliTrak will be available on the V6?
I am weighing this car against a Certified Pre Owned (CPO) CTS, which I can get with both. I live in the snow belt so I'd like the extra safety net when the roads get slick.
Some comparison thoughts:
A 3 year old, low mileage CPO CTS would cost the same as a brand new G8 V6, probably $25-26k.
Both would then have 3 years of bumper to bumper warranty left, though the CTS' would go to 100k instead of 36k so its actually a bit better for high mileage drivers.
With a 300 pound weight advantage, the CTS should be quicker.
Of course I do like the extra size and roominess of the G8. Much bigger trunk (17.5 to 12.5 cu ft).
The styling is personal preference, but I prefer the front 1/2 of the G8, but the rear of the CTS.
CTS probably has some gizmos that are nice but I don't have to have (HID, headlight washers).
G8's interior seems more tasteful.
Another area for me to weigh is the dealership service experience. At this point in my life I am too tired to put up with the hassle of bad service experiences. Everyone tells me the Caddy dealers treat you like royalty - polite, great hours, don't try to get out of warranty work, free loaners, etc. I've heard many Pontiac dealers are not customer friendly.
Will be interesting, maybe I'll have to drive them both back to back.
