The other day i got into my car and tried to start the engine and it didn't even turn over. The electronics worked fine. I pulled the key out then tried again. Once more nothing from the engine, although all the electronics work - radio, fan, instrument cluster lights up, able to lower windows without a problem. I pulled the key out folded it back up then flicked it back open and tried again. This time car starts right up.

A few days later I'm with my girlfriend and we're leaving the theater an the same thing happens. I turn the key a few times with no luck, pull and replace the key a few times with no luck, move the shifter and wiggle the a wheel some...eventually car starts up strong and normal. A few more days pass everything is normal then I'm a the movies again trying to leave and it happens again. This time it's worse. We're all dying of heat because it's like 110 heat index and the car won't start :cursin:. I get frustrated and start pushing buttons on fob while sitting in the car. Of course this makes the car give me rapid honks, probably for having windows down and trying to hit the lock button. Anyway, after the honks car starts.

I checked engineering mode and the battery shows 75% charge at 12v so it can't be that. I'm thinking mabe the key? I'm not sure....has anyone else had a similar problem?

I was having a problem remote starting it and they said there was a problem with the internal peice of the key fob. Might be a similiar issue. it was covered by warrenty.

I had that problem a few months ago. I had both my keys replaced under warranty. I do have a second key that isn't a "switch blade" style. I guess i'll need to see if that one has the same issues.

Yeah try the other key. I was also told by the stealership to not have too many other things on my keychain with the ignition key. He said the weight of everything pulling down on the one key would eventually wear down the pins in the igntion and cost about 5 bills to replace the whole shabang. Now he has me a little paranoid and I'm looking for a decent size keychain or nice alternative. Hopefully, this isn't your problem. GOOD LUCK
