Has anyone found an aftermarket bluetooth kit that will properly integrate with the G8 yet?

Don't know why except that maybe I am watching money too close right now but I took my car to the kids at BB. I got a great deal but system does have bugs, so I suggest the Parrot system like I got but a pro installer.

Here is the good.
Looks great, nice neat install.
Seems to work about 90% perfect, calls ring and music stops (except for 1 rear speaker again 90%)
Calls disconnect automatic and music returns
If I open the door to exit, system asks if I want to switch to phone
Don't have to deal with StupidStar

Here is the bad.

Think it should be a little louder but maybe U.S Navy Helicopters and many rock concerts have taken its toll!

Does it need to use the aux plug on your radio?

Dede, while you post great pictures, many times your posts lack words, care to elaborate on the system? I assume the bluetooth button replaces the power outlet and that it uses the existing microphones by the overhead lights and that this is your answer to the 08's without bluetooth?

This is what JHP is working on. There are two locations for a microphone. One is used by OnStar, the other one is used by the bluetooth. The bluetooth microphone is specifically designed to plug into that place. Also, one of the connectors from a bluetooth kit is plug and play. Another one is two wire split and four wire connect because they still can't find one of the connectors to make it 100% plug and play. This is the only reason why this has been held off for so long. Even if they don't find it, it is still going to be easy 4 wire installation.
I have no issues with sound quality. It sounds really clear and everyone can hear me fine too. Volume still can be adjusted from steering wheel/radio as well as the bluetooth button itself (which changes volume settings on your cell phone).

P.S. I don't like typing :p

ok... stupid question...

why does my interior not look like that?

I do not have the same over head lights... and I am assuming the wood on the dash comes with the red trim?

dede,

I looked but couldn't find the thread where you were first talking about hooking up the Holden Bluetooth. What happened to just using the steering wheel button for the bluetooth and the mirror buttons for the Onstar and Onstar phone? IIRC you said the steering wheel button could be used but it was either or, either bluetooth phone or Onstar, not both. When you guys get this figured out I will have little use for the Onstar phone and having its buttons on the mirror for the occasional use wouldn't be an issue. That, and I use the 12v outlet you have replaced with the button all the time.

Which version is it? Also please, does it require use of the aux jack on the radio?

Its been fully discussed in
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3021

It does not use the AUX input, it uses a harness that allows the parrot to interrupt the radio and power the speakers directly.

How was your installed? Did you use a harness or did they splice into the wiring. I used a harness and it was essentially plug-and-play.
