So, my G8 is now at the dealership having the bumper replaced/repainted. I should have taken a picture to post, but i wasnt thinking about it.

If you look at the rear bumper of the car, you will obviously see a seam that runs all the way around where the top half of the bumper meets the fender and trunk. On the passenger side about 6 inches back from the wheel well, in the seam, the paint on the bumper portion is begining to peel off. It is about 1/2 inch long and getting bigger. it looks like there was a bubble or something right on the seam and it just started to peel away. Anyone else notice this on their car? The tech said he had seen it a few times on other pontiac models. Anyways, the guy said they need my car ALL WEEK! just to respray the bumper? sucks. So since its gonna be there all week I told them to check for ECM updates etc etc....they give me a really nice GP loaner that smells like smoke and has a HUGE courtesy car logo on all sides. /cry

I had the same problem on both sides of my Billet Silver Honda Ridgeline. I just ignored it for a couple of years and traded it in. It was almost like the bumper would flex against the fixed body panel, and caused the paint to chip. So I know exactly what you're looking at, and on that Honda, it was pretty common.

yup im seein it on my black G8 GT. pissed me off specially considering what I do.
Im also getting it on the side skirts.

Its mainly because these peices were done after the rest of the car as they are the Pontiac parts, not the AU made components.

I have found the paint to be much thinner on the bumpers and side skirts, and it seems to chip pretty easy compaired to the metal parts, almost just a thin layer/film on the plastic parts.

I had adhesive on my drivers side skirt that I gently rubbed off with a dry terrycloth towel. Unfortunately the paint came off with it... E-mailed dealer but got no response.
White car.....Lots of adhesive on car from poor detailing job. Unfortunately wasn't noticeable until the car got dirty.

Bought touch-up paint from another dealer.
