: Choices of stock rims for the G8?
Mike P 07-30-2007, 06:09 PM Do you think we'll get one of the 18" wheels that Holden currently puts on their VE SS? Or do you think Pontiac will have their own different wheel?
What did they do with the GTO? Did they just use a Monaro wheel that Holden was using? Or did they go with something different?
appletonrc 07-30-2007, 10:13 PM I would suspect this will be one of the wheels we'll see (first off the production line)

Mike P 07-31-2007, 02:17 AM Those are not bad for stock rims / wheels. I can handle those!
Horsepower mods before looks : )
ToneyTone 07-31-2007, 06:24 PM I think those are the V-6 wheels
immortal 07-31-2007, 06:29 PM Nope, I have those on my V8.
ToneyTone 08-01-2007, 07:04 PM Oh ok, I think I read that there will be a 19' optional wheel. What could that wheel be?
Mike P 08-02-2007, 04:52 PM Nope, I have those on my V8.

isszy 08-03-2007, 03:10 AM The Monaro came standard with 18" in Australia. The series 1 had leftover HSV wheels (which I think really suit the car), followed by a couple of different variants during it's life.
In their wisdom, Pontiac decided that US roads were too potholed to supply 18" as standard, so they chose the ugliest Holden 17" wheel available, one which was standard on the SS ute. So the the GTO wheels are kind of a truck wheel. The same design was standard on the Commodore SS sedan in an 18", which looks much better.
Here are a few of the standard Holden OE alloys, all available as aftermarket wheels

I could live with these!!!!
Cool_Hand_Luke 08-03-2007, 02:01 PM I hope there are at least a couple options available. The brochure from Holden didn't have much to look at. GM is once again very slow releasing info.
There will plenty of aftermarket options once people get their hands on these cars and just start fitting them to see what works and what doesn't.
sccaGTO 08-03-2007, 06:50 PM Definately gotta spring for the 19" wheels. :ftw:
ToneyTone 08-04-2007, 11:13 AM It really doesn't matter because this car looks its best on aftermarket wheels anyway.

powdercoat black and i am in.
GeoffA 08-14-2007, 07:40 PM How about a bolt pattern for the G8, Does anyone know what it will be?
isszy 08-14-2007, 09:41 PM Same as the GTO, except that the studs are longer so wheels need to be machined before they can be interchanged.
I believe the BMW 5 series has the same pattern but different offset.
GeoffA 08-15-2007, 01:01 AM A more simple question, 5x??
Anybody with a commadore should have the same bolt pattern and offset.

They are 5 x 120 and my 20x8'5" rims are 40mm offset.
coold 09-29-2007, 03:08 PM Hello pontiac fans ! I am new to the forum and I was wondering what the prices of the g8 gt with the 6.0 liter V8 will be, and also what the stereo sytem will be. I currently own a Pontiac G6 GT and I love it ! With all of the great things I am hearing about the G8 GT I will most certainly be getting one !!!!
