Gday guys

Last night i went to the track in my VE SSV M6 ute to try to inprove on my pb of 13.65@102mph, i ended up with a best of 13.172@104.56mph.

The only mods done so far are a set of shocks in the rear to stop axle tramp and i removed the air filter.

Over the next few weeks i will have a go trying to get into the 12s untouched.

Nice. Your goal of 12's untouched might be possible if all the stars and planets are aligned ;) right now your reaction time is what is killing you. You would be amazed at how much a better RT makes you the faster car.......Good Luck Mate! Keep representing us Down Under!

Thanks, i think the planets where almost perfect on that run. :driving:

Yes the reaction was a shocker on that run, but it doesn't actually effect the time.

Wow , nice times ! What were your 60 foot times with your previous personal best with the 13.6 ? Those shocks must have helped out a bit ?

Got 8?

Damn good times...

Unless you are talking about two identical times then yes RT will make you seem like the faster car because you left first and got there first...
RT has nothing to do with the timed run, the time for your run doesn't start till you move out of the first beam so you could drink coffee and smoke a cigar then make your run and it wouldn't effect much, now sixty foot time on the other hand is where its at...drop those and you almost see a double return at the big end...

+1

RT has nothing to do with your ET.

It will help you win a race, but do nothing with how long it takes your car to cover 1320 feet.

The 60' times on the 13.6 was 2.1.

The shocks didn't really change the times much, i fitted the shocks about a month ago and didn't see a improvement in my times. I started to give it more revs, about 4500rpm+ off the line with the right amount of clutch slip and that's when the times dropped. :)

Holy crap, 4500rpm on stock tires!? Either you're bringing your own VHT to the track or your clutch hates you :gr_jest:

Nice time! Question: does the Ute weigh less than the Sedan? I know it's longer, but I don't see how it couldn't weigh at least a little bit less.

Gm should have made the gt low like the ute. Perfect stance and hell of a run. I want one of those also when the come to the states in 2010 or whenever they show up.

My clutch hates me, all the way down the return road all i can smell is clutch. It is one of the best tracks in the country though.

It will be coming out in the next few weeks, i will have a look and see how worn it is.

My ute at weighted about 3990 pounds at the scales at the track, i think the sedan might be a little lighter.

Excellent times for a stocker! I have my name on the list in the US. The G8 is actually my wifes car, thats why I am only going so far with it and spending so much time with it, so when I get the Ute it will be no time at all to get it fast. Charlie
