This is probably going to sound like a really dumb question to most of you, but is every standard G8 paint color metallic? I've seen quite a few in person (and probably every color) and didn't notice them to be metallic--other than silver of course. Maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention? But even on some close-ups that I've seen on this board I don't see the metallic flakes. Normally I am not a fan of metallic paint--especially black--and just wanted to get my facts straight before I start looking seriously at a car next spring. Thanks.

Liquid Red and White Hot are NOT metallic. I believe all the others are.

So it looks like if I want to avoid metallic paint, then Liquid Red and White Hot are my only choices correct? Damn, I was really hoping to get a pure black. Oh well.

Another question:
Is the Ignition Orange color the same as what's on the Camaros? And no wonder I've never seen a G8 in that color--only 900 were built?! Is it a coincidence that my 2 favorite colors are 2 of the rarest (orange & stryker blue)? This definitely makes my decision that much more difficult.

You don't really notice the metallic aspect in the panther black.

Yea I remember looking at them last year at a local dealer, and I don't remember thinking that ANY of the colors they had looked bad. Though I will admit, I'm not a huge fan colors that resemble maroon & slate blue/gray in cars.
