: Replaced Atari with Analog Gauges

Finally got some better pictures of my completed gauges. I removed the factory Atari display and used Bondo to make mounting points for three 2-1/16" gauges. I chose fuel pressure, boost gauge/controller and oil pressure, but any three standard gauges could be used.

Hope these generate some good ideas for our little community here. :driving:

Very nice work. I think it came out great and I like the gauge choices with the black face and silver bezel. Goes with the theme of the interior well. Only thing that kinda stands out is the AEM gauge doesn't quite match the other two.

Any thought to using Defi gauges with this setup? They may match a bit better overall.

Got a link by chance?

The OEM oil pressure gauge is in bars, so in round numbers:

1 bar = 15 psi
2 bars = 30 psi
3 bars = 44 psi
4 bars = 59 psi
5 bars = 74 psi

Thanks for the PSI numbers. So the highest oil pressure is around 75lbs?I'm a little confused because all my musclecars from the past always ran more pressure.Does it matter?
Thanks John

It's generally accepted that you want 10 psi of oil presure for every thousand RPM of engine speed. So you'll want to see at least 60 psi (4 bars) for 6,000 RPM.

do the gauges work??
Yes, of course. Well sort of anyways. I didn't actually have the oil pressure gauge working yet when this picture was taken. :)

Here is a link to a pic I found. Notice the one on the right is off and looks totally black and when lit up, well you get the point.

Are you thinking about selling these to the rest of us? Those of us who are looking to get FI could really benefit from a setup like this? Maybe offering the bracket that you created to install and we could then chose the gauges we want, boost, A/F, Oil pressure...

When you removed the atari gauges. Were they a sealed module? I was hoping to salvage the analog signals from the CAN bus decoder to apply to my own gauges. Do you have any pics of the back of the atari gauges, so that I get an idea of how they are assembled.

Many thanks in advance.

If anyone wants to sell the atari gauges at a resonable price I would entertain offers.

The pictures you are looking for have been posted by dede in one of the threads. IIRC, the screen and control module were separate pieces.
