Traded my '06 Dodge Charger R/T for an '08 G8 GT today. Had the Charger for just over three months ha ha. Didn't like it (mainly cuz it had 22"s on it) and LOVE this car already. More my style. Got a white one without sport or leather. All that I could afford. The front bumper has a bruise on it from the prvious owner parallel parking by feel so that'll have to be replaced, but KBB lists it at 23,000 and I got it for 17,900 so that's good. pictures soon.

Several things wrong with the car which led to its reduced price. Front bumper needs to be replaced (but silver lining is better paint), cigarette burn on passenger door panel (can't be that expensive to replace?), and a chipped driver's side tail-light. I know it looks like a V6 but the previous owner put V6 tail-lights on a GT. Also, the dealership was worried about not being able to sell the vehicle this close to winter so they had installed a brand new set of Blizzack tires! Pretty much just your basic White Hot GT. Thanks for looking

Prices from gmpartscenter.com are: Tail-light - $134, Front bumper cover - $328, Front left grille - $79, Door panel - $360.

I think I'm gonna wait until after winter to replace the bumper cover. Over the winter I'll be purchasing the other parts. Feel free to let me know about cheaper parts!

A lot of GT people go to a GXP style front end when they replace the bumper. Search on here and you'll find lots of info. Welcome to the club!

You can get the GXP front bumper for like half that price! Which is why we all get them, LOL!

You can find the tail light on ebey for like $50 if you look around as well as the door panel. Well you should be able to get the door panel. OR you could try taking it to an upolstry (sp?) shop to see if it could be fixed, OR they sell a vinyl repair kit at like Pep Boys that you could fix it yourself.

Won my first race:) No surprise but beat my friend's '06 Subaru WRX from a 50 MPH roll and annihilated him from a stop. On the race from a stop he bogged, but still, I showed him tail-lights by 20 MPH. By 70 I was easily eight car lengths. That was a lot of fun, I would have still won had he not bogged it, but it wouldn't have been so far off.

Welcome! Looks like you're already having fun with your car!

Yea, used cars sometimes have imperfections... goes with the territory I suppose.

It's awesome that you got a brand new set of blizzaks out of the deal... those could run in upwards of 1k if bought brand new!

As others have said, sounds like it may be worth it to price compare a GXP front bumper if you are gonna get it painted anyways... many prefer the "seperated foglights" to the standard GT/Base car's foglight configuration.

If you monitor the for-sale section (http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16108), there's often used GT tail lights. Sure beats paying "new" prices... when someone is trying to get rid of them!

Funny... there's a guy on here with a twin turbo G8 (700+ horsepower to the wheels!!) that is white hot color and has the V6 tails... sure you didn't buy his car?! lol

Once again, welcome to the forum. Enjoy your ride!

You got a good deal...The dealers in the midwest are getting nervous due to Winter. (bad for sellers - good for buyers). You will be in good shape though given the set you have. Welcome.

Got the SC Cortex today! A big thanks to Saudi and Proud for the quick and easy sale and fast shipping of the product. Would do business with him again in the future.

You can run the stock shift points and torque management for the winter season (under advanced tune).

zepcom, I saw that TT GT a few days ago...i can confirm that i did not pick that one up for 17K! ha ha. that would have been nice. I'm biased but White Hot with V6 tails has to be the nicest looking G8 ever

Not a surprise to anyone, but thought I'd share that my loan officer and I were talking today and she told me that the bank valued my car at $21,xxx. If you remember, I paid $17,900 for it. That's a pretty good deal in my book :)

sounds like you are one proud G8 owner! I know exactly how you feel I have only had mine for 6 days. I love it! Thought about exhaust for your car? what you going to go with?

Oh I def can't wait till summer. It's currently 11 degrees outside lol. Hopefully I'll have atleast cai, exhaust and tune done by spring.

I hope to have CAI, and some exhaust by then too. And new tires. The tires are not really in the modding budget because my wife agrees they are necessary so they come out of the household budget :) Right now I have Blizzaks, which is great, but they don't really hook up that well ;)

I'm currently researching the benefits of headers and cat delete. I want a full exhaust system but don't think I can afford it. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for used headers. I think if I go that route, I will have to sell my cortex and have to get a custom tune which would be awesome!!!!

Now just have to find the money for all of this and stay married through the process

I got a new set of eagle rsa's on my car when i bought it last week. They seem pretty decent in the snow here. hopefully I will get a new set of rims for spring and put a lil more aggressive tire on it. I havent decided on a standard CAI or an OTR one. Exhaust wise im looking at the solo axle back with a x pipe. (headers aren't in my budget right now) Then after thats all done I'm going to get a nice custome dyno tune.

I don't really like the idea of the preset tunes you order. I know air quality and other factors go into the tune and id just much rather have it tuned in my area.

Goal is mid 12's

Update for those who car (not many I assume :)) I will be selling my Cortex tuner to raise funds for the OBX header/exhaust system, a dyno tune, and an intake. Also got an estimate from local shop for repairing my front bumper for $350. The front bumper, passenger side front door panel, and replacement for chipped tail-light will set me back a total of $500, which is great because the car is worth $22K and I got it for $17K due ot the defects! I'm happy now.
