Hello! I figured I should finally join the G8BOARD after lurking the past year + and introduce myself. I purchased My 08 Liquid Red GT (Base, No Leather) with 8,000 miles in Jan. 08. to replace my beloved 1996 Impala SS. The G8 seemd to be the perfect replacement: V-8, Rear Wheel Drive, and US Badged. I did most of my decision making based off this site (thank you). I had quite a few problems early on with the car caused by the local dearlship causing one problem while attempting to fix something else. I finally switched dealerships and problem was solved. It has now been a trouble free car for the past year, aside for the soft paint issue. I now have 19,000 miles on the car (daily driver takes the commuter abuse in Ft. Laud.). I'm now starting to think about exhaust, air intake, and a tune. This car is a blast to drive and always is met with approval of other car enthuisists. This site has been very informative and has also helped in making my G8 ownership enjoyable.Hopefully I will see a few of the other G8 owners at Tower Shops in the upcoming year.

Welcome! I too have a "stripper model" GT ... not all the frills, but all the power!

I recommend you search to find all you need to know about Exhaust upgrades (Catbacks, axlebacks, and/or High Flow Cats) CAI's, and tunes via the search feature (http://www.g8board.com/forums/search.php) of the board, or browsing the individual sections (http://www.g8board.com/forums/index.php) dedicated to these topics. If you can't find it there, feel free to ask.
