: Anyone running E3 spark plugs (yet?)
EC-Ryder 06-29-2008, 09:52 PM BTW in case the SEARCH police shows up, i did a search under spark plugs, and a bunch of non related stuff should up! LOL!
Now!...Err...were was I...Ah yes! Spark plugs!
The E3's suposed to increase mileage and give about 5hp more, but...And there's always a BUT! LOL!
For some reason I could only find a listing for the V-6. There’s rally not a whole lot listed for these babe’s yet I’m sure there is a cross over for the V-8 GT.
Also to change them on the V-8 looks hard, anyone try this yet?

I doubt that many of us will be replacing the stock plugs (Coil-near-plug ignition, iridium electrode tip/ iridium core spark plugs, low resistance spark plug wires) as these are rated for either 50K or 100K miles. I forget.
dhessco 06-29-2008, 10:53 PM I saw that one Horsepower TV today.... guessing you saw the same huh? only thing that was a carborated motor with HEI.
EC-Ryder 06-30-2008, 07:06 AM Sure did! LOL!
I have used the other plugs in the show as well, or really just about every plug out there with some yielding much better results than what the OEM guys can do.
Yes they are HEI, but they show a catalog listing for the G8 V-6, but non for the V-8. I thought they both had HEI?.
GRRRR8 06-30-2008, 07:22 AM I will be indexing my factory plugs this week. Cheap/free HP. Time consuming. Pain in the azz. But I just have to know. Charlie

Wow I don't know to many people with race cars that index plugs anymore. Let alone street cars. We experimented a long time ago on several ls based engines and saw extremely minimal gains in indexing. However we never showed a loss. :)
Good luck

All I need is a gain. :) How am I going to keep up with you TT and blown cars if I dont get every last HP. Hopefully the cam and now it looks like heads too will offset u boosted guys and I will still have some money left to "biggie size" when I go out to eat. LOL Charlie
laserred 09-22-2010, 01:02 PM SO how are these working out for guys using them??
edfiero 09-22-2010, 03:38 PM I put a set in my wife's Ford Escape 4 banger. (I was only willing to drop the $$ for 4 of them). We checked the mileage 1 time so far...the first tank 'appeared' to show about 1/2 mpg improvement. However I need more tanks. That could have been due to less traffic that week, more highway driving than usual or many different things. However there is no noticable Perforfmance (HP) gain.
c5racr1 09-22-2010, 08:00 PM tried them worked like **** and took them out for ngk tr66 and never looked back. dont waste your money the computer sets a misfire code

If you need plugs, stick with what came with the car. I have done hundreds of LS spark plugs that went WAY beyond 100k and looked almost new.
BTW, Don't fall for the magazine/TV show HP of the day gimmick. Remember they are sponsored by E3, Slick 50, or that magnet around the fuel line companies LOL.
Now I need some asprin for this splitting headache I just got, LOL
Damian 09-29-2010, 10:21 AM E3 plugs are a marketing gimmick just like Split Fires, the Bosch +4, etc etc etc
Nothing out performs a Copper NGK plug in these motors. We've tried for years to find a better answer and there just isn't one.
bostonf4$ 09-29-2010, 10:43 AM you don't need new spark plugs, you won't need new spark plugs
GXP4RO 09-29-2010, 11:46 AM So reading thru this thread it seems like i should not have to change plugs for a while correct? I have 51K on my car now. I changed plugs in my 2000 camry every 60k or so.

I just did a plug change on a 5.3 Tahoe with 130,000 miles. Technically they should have been done at 100k, but gap between the new plugs and old plugs was only 0.006 ish. Three wires broke and I cut the poop out of my hand.
Point is, GM did all the homework, why spend the extra money on something silly like a fancy sparkplug???
spd98 10-02-2010, 10:23 AM You'll need wires before plugs. Factory wire work but they do tend to fall apart after 100k
