you will spend 9k on an aps kit too... cause like most of these TT kits, they do not come COMPLETE... you have to spend another $1000-2000 on injectors, spark plugs, or some other stuff...

No but seriously, I would like to know the pros and cons of both the systems, being a turbo system I know it can get pretty complicated. Anybody out there with the Gen tt kit on there g8 gt???

Well, I think you are still going to be spending a lot more on the Gen TT kit considering it is 8 grand without any fuel system components and the APS is only 6,500.

It looks like they both make the relatively the same power at the same boost.

It is honestly based on your preference. You need to ask yourself two questions.

How much do you want to spend?

Do you want top mount or bottom mount?

If you answer those questions, you have the answer to your question.

You two having the same avatar makes scanning threads quite confusing... I usually keep track of who's talking by avatar when reading quickly, and until I went back and checked the names I was thinking it was one person talking to himself!

It probably is the same person. It's just his split personality. :)

Hi,
I can't comment on aps, but I installed a gen-tt on a customers car a couple of months back and he is loving it. It pulls like a beast.
The only extras required are injectors and a tune. The only hassle we had was a boost pipe blowing off cos the clamp wasn't tightened enough, and the electirc scavenger pump is a bit noisy. Apparently gen-tt have since changed the pump they supply.

A speed shop in Columbus that deals with APS gave me a quote of $8,000.00 installed. I have decided to wait and go with the Magnacharger in the spring provided Mike at Haddad doesn't have any problems as he gets some miles on the car. I personally don't feel comfortable pushing that much horse the twin-turbo generates through the current drive-line and rear end.......Now the GXP.....There's a different beast with a few more Corvette inspired driveline and rear-end capabilities.

What makes you think the driveline will be any different?

I wouldn't worry too much about the drive line except the transmission (I don't know much about trans'). There are Mustang GTs and Cobras pushing more power through their stock rear ends then this.

On the same note what size rear do these cars have 8.8 or 7.5?

From what I've read the driveline will be exactly the same. I'm surprised the GXP will not be getting the 6L90E (since that is a beefed-up 6L80). Also, the rear differential will actually be weaker, since a higher ratio gearset has a smaller pinion with fewer teeth, which translates into a gearset that can break more easily.

Anyone know how big the ring gear is in these vehicles?
