99-LS1-SS

Well, let me give you a little history of my forum name. I used to have a 1999 Camaro SS. While I had it I cam, LT headers, Borla cat back and a Yank 2800 converter. It was a consistent low 12’s car. When the Cobras started getting big and people started making a lot of power with them I sold the Camaro to my older brother and I purchased a 04 Cobra. I had big plans for the Cobra (Kenne Bell 2.2 supercharger). Well as it turns out my daughter being born was MUCH more important than a hot rod. Due to the impracticality of the Cobra (baby seat was a PITA to deal with), I took a beating and sold it. Every since then I’ve been patiently waiting for the right time to get a car that I want. The G8 GXP appears to fit that bill.
Now on to the Camaro as it sits today. My brother owns a body shop in Garner North Carolina and shares my “need for speed”. The benefit for him is that he can afford to build the car the way he wants it where as I didn’t have that luxury.
Since he bought the Camaro from me 3 years ago it has gone through a significant transformation. NOTHING about the drive train is stock and 90% of the suspension isn’t stock anymore either. I’ve listed some of the “improvements” below. I’m sure I’m missing some stuff. My brother is pretty particular about things and built the exhaust himself.
Texas Speed custom 408cid forged short block
Yank 3600 SS torque converter
Rossler transmission 4L65E Stage 3
Kooks LT stainless headers
Hand built true duals over the axel exhaust system (built by my brother)
FAST intake and throttle body 90/90 (custom painted by my brother)
9” Moser w/billet yoke 35 spine axels with Strange light weight brakes
Strange chromemoly driveshaft (custom painted by my brother)
Nitrous Express dual stage 250 shot w/ stand alone fuel system (being installed right now)
Heads Dart 225 machined ported polished
Futral Cam matched to the heads
Tuned by Mayhem Motorsports
Billet valve covers with coil relocation
LOTS of Chromemoly suspension parts
Battery relocated to the rear of the car
~510 rwhp before nitrous (through the A4)
Here it is idling right after the motor was put in.

Here is the car right after I had the cam put in it. This is what happens when rednecks have too much tread on their tires. (My younger brother is the redneck talking in this video).

Here is the car on a 150 shot before my brother started modifying it. (I'm the redneck talking in this one).

Here are pictures of the exhaust tacked up before it got sent off to be Jet-Hot Coated.
