Right in the middle of a CD the song just stops and now I can't load, eject, play or do anything as far as CDs go. Radio still functioning as well as MP3 jack in the front...YEA!

Mine has done the same thing with store bought cd's. If I turn it off and back on in little while (25-30 minutes) or the next day it will work again. It may play for a while or it may go to mechanism error again. I ejected all the cd's and only will try one at a time until I can get to the dealer to get the unit replaced.

Pull the room fuse or disconnect the battery to rest the CD?

Well now about 24 hours ago, I got in my car to go to work and the cd fired right up, started playing I mean. I ejected all the CD's and sighed with relief. Today I put a cd back in and started all over.

No noice from loader, eject or anything. It will flash across the screen that it is loading or ejecting or playing and then about 30-45 sec later I get an error.

And thanks for the welcome to the boards, nice to talk to other G8 owners, only one with a GT in my town!
