That's the first thought that went through my head! If it's a home computer lable you're asking for trouble. :(

Mine has done the same thing with store bought cd's. If I turn it off and back on in little while (25-30 minutes) or the next day it will work again. It may play for a while or it may go to mechanism error again. I ejected all the cd's and only will try one at a time until I can get to the dealer to get the unit replaced.

If they will not eject you can try turning it off for a while and then back on. My experience (not with a G8 but other in dash changers) has been that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will then allow you to eject the discs.

I had the same issue in my Nissan Xterra's 6-CD changer a few years back. The unit would not play or eject any of the CDs. Unfortunately I had it filled up with Ft. Worth Public Library CDs and had to work out a deal on late fees.

The Nissan dealer swapped the head under warranty, but could not extract the CDs locally. They had to send the unit back to the Nissan electronics mothership, and then they mailed the CDs back to the local dealer. It took 3 or 4 months to get them back if I recall.
