Just bought a Flashpaq from a friend who got rid of his truck. I plugged it into the computer and everything update to version "270" When I plug into my car it show 2008 GM Trucks, how do I make it so I can use it on my G8 GT?

Month and a half and no response? What is the purpose of this vendor here if they arent going to help. Do I have to buy a new unit or will this one work with a unlock or something??

The Cortex will show on the screen the last vehicle that it downloaded the stock tune from. Obviously the last vehicle was a GM truck. Even if it was returned to stock it would still show this.
However, I assume you still tried to do a tune? If it's obviously still locked to the previous vehicle, you can pay $100 for superchips to unlock the tuner. I believe it's actually even shown as an upgrade in the update program.

Maybe you could call Superchips directly from the 1-800 number on their website.
Some alternatives:
Are you 100% sure that he "returned his truck to stock" before selling it? If he didn't... you will need to pay superchips as previously stated to "unlock it" from his old truck's VIN.
Here's what I recommend you do on your own to get this working.
Download the superchips update utility from their website
Create a login username/password on the superchips site (free) and type that in accordingly when you install the superchips update software onto your computer.
Start the superchips software
Plug in your superchips programmer via USB to your computer
Have it update the latest full list of supported modules
This should now (only if the unit is "Unlocked" as per above) allow you to see not only "Trucks" stuff but also download the latest versions of all GM models that are supported.
If he downloaded specific CAI tunes for his truck, you may need to call superchips directly and have your serial number ready so from their back end they can reset the config on that specific device.
Good luck, sorry it took a month for you to get some answers here. If it were me, I would have called their "support" line about a week after getting no response on here.
Good luck!

Thank you guys for the suggestion. I will try to call Superchips. Their business hours fall on my work hours which I usually have no time to call. I will try to make some time. If he returned his truck to stock, it should work without a unlock then?
