Forgive me for this...
That's ****ing HAWT! I love the wheels and if they were 20 in the front and raked correctly that car's stance would KILL!
Plano's not really that far from here, I may have to go take a gander at it.
Yes, what dealer is that?
GTXgp 07-06-2008, 09:29 PM Lonestar in McKinney.
Mike, get back to work! :slap: :wink2:
Miakehl 07-06-2008, 09:33 PM at least it is a v6
Nevermind then.
V8 or nothing.
Blackdevil77 07-06-2008, 09:52 PM thats bs. why would dealers do that? I actually like my stock 18's. Call me weird.
LD Lee 07-06-2008, 10:28 PM I"m with you. My 18's feel and ride good to me at high speeds and accross rough streets/spots in the road. However, that style of a wheel is nice looking.
GETGONE 07-06-2008, 10:33 PM The factory 18's are ugly as sin!!! Glad ours came with the 19's and they're still not that great. I put aftermarket 19's on. 22's are a bit big but 50 Cent's G8 had chrome 22's on it and they're probably going after that market segment. At least it's a decent wheel design and not some gaudy over the top chrome bling bling wheel. The dealer we bought our G8 from is the only dealer in my area that puts aftermarket wheels on some of their vehicles. West Michigan has a VERY conservative buyers market so usually big wheels and bling don't sell around here. I'm amazed the dealer actually got an orange G8 in.
they look too big. design is nice but too big.
LD Lee 07-06-2008, 11:05 PM Hey GETGONE, the 18's on my car ride good, I NEVER said they look good. Pontiac could have done some better wheel designs. I'm in the market for new 18's to maintain the same ride quality. However, does your new 19's have the same specs/offset as factory wheels with the same look without protruding out?
LD Lee 07-06-2008, 11:08 PM However, I think I will ride over to that dealer tomorrow and check out that wheel brand and see if it comes in 18's.

:barf:Tacky - Tacky - Tacky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LDV60 07-06-2008, 11:39 PM Arse removed is the only suitable punishment for that effort.
PMD G8 07-07-2008, 12:54 AM About 2 inches too large. Just look at the freaking brakes!!
Yer that's major overkill
MANOFSTEEL69 07-07-2008, 01:31 AM Yea a little to big! And not in a Rob and Big 22"s kinda way. To each his own, but 20"s should be the limit.
BSmith 07-07-2008, 01:43 AM Y'all are crazy, that thing looks good! The front could use a 20 though...
G8 Ray 07-07-2008, 06:26 AM thats bs. why would dealers do that? I actually like my stock 18's. Call me weird.
When I was looking for a G6, I found a dealer that had put 20's on one. I wanted to buy it but I asked the dealer to put the stock wheels back on it. He refused. I bought somewhere else.

The 19's ride great. It's amazing how smooth the car rides. The new wheels I got are ROH's that are made for the G8.
VE hsv maloo 07-07-2008, 08:10 AM Bet it drives like a bucket of KA KA !!
GRRRR8 07-07-2008, 08:20 AM Put 22s on it. The extra weight will wear out the hub bearings, brakes, suspension about 5 times as fast. Did they calibrate speedo for the 22s? Not to mention what a pig that is going to accelerate like. Can u say sprung weight boys and girls. The great thing that I really do like about it is, ITS NOT MINE.
GTXgp 07-07-2008, 08:32 AM At least it's a decent wheel design and not some gaudy over the top chrome bling bling wheel.
This MGM wasn't the only one they had, they had a black G8 one with some "bling bling" style chrome 19 or 20s. Didn't take a pic though ;)
Cashed 07-07-2008, 08:32 AM Fugly.
4gasem 07-07-2008, 08:35 AM Fugly.
Agreed! Makes the rotors look like they're 3 inches...:(
murdock 07-07-2008, 08:52 AM GETGONE,
What dealer are you going to in West MI?
Thanks
Rayvan 07-07-2008, 09:15 AM LOL! Does it come with Bigg Assed Pants (tm) too?
Thanks for the laugh... It looks silly as heck.
At least they didn't put a big ol' jewel encrusted "22" emblem on the side of the car. Passed a Charger with one of those. Made me laugh.
GETGONE 07-07-2008, 12:23 PM GETGONE,
What dealer are you going to in West MI?
Thanks
Todd Wenzel on 28th street. They were the only dealer around that HAD any G8's and even then had several at once and not just one or two.
Zaphod B 07-07-2008, 02:31 PM Ick. That looks like *****.
G8Smitty 07-07-2008, 02:58 PM I'm expecting clowns to jump out of it.
I don't like it at all. I'm also in my late 30's, married, w/3 kids, so I'm not necessarily "hip" and/or "with it". My kids remind me almost daily.

Ugly is ugly! :drink:
GETGONE 07-07-2008, 04:22 PM Did they calibrate speedo for the 22s?
What's there to calibrate if they properly did plus sizing and kept the same overall tire diameter?
Slizzo 07-07-2008, 05:14 PM Ha, with 22" rims, I doubt they were able to keep the same aspect ratio.
Zaphod B 07-07-2008, 05:30 PM What's there to calibrate if they properly did plus sizing and kept the same overall tire diameter?
Did you see how high that car is sitting off the ground with those 22's? :slap: I think calibration might indeed be in order, if anyone who makes his G8 look so idiotic even cares about having an accurate speedo.
joemac 07-07-2008, 05:49 PM Mind you the wheels were listed as a $3600 option. :slap:
GETGONE 07-07-2008, 07:52 PM Ha, with 22" rims, I doubt they were able to keep the same aspect ratio.
I didn't find a 25 sidewall in a 245 width. I did find a 30 sidewall in a 245/30/22 which would be one inch taller than the factory 245/40/19's.
Gfrom8 07-07-2008, 08:13 PM 22's on a 6cyl, spend the 3k and get a gt. I hate when people put big ass rims on base model cars. Just like the 300c's and chargers.
It A G8! 07-07-2008, 08:52 PM I for one like it. I would'nt buy it, but I like the look. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm 25 (for a few more day anyway) and pretty "hip" and "with it" but I wouldn't even rent that car with those wheels on it, let alone buy it. The design is fine, but anything bigger than 18s or 19s on a performance vehicle is a joke. So much extra weight to turn! I just don't get the obsession with big wheels, looks like a stage coach. :eyetwitch:
At least they're not chrome tho. :barf:
VENOM 07-08-2008, 10:43 AM thats are fuglyl as hell
i love my stock 19's. i cant see spending $1K on new rims and tires. I would rather use that money for speed then to make my car roll on some 20's

1k??? Hell most are over 2K with tires and all...:slap:
I would spend money on wheels but if I do I will buy some that are lighter than stock to reduce unsprung and rotational mass...:)
neelnug 07-09-2008, 06:14 PM Is that a 4wd version?
Miakehl 07-09-2008, 06:36 PM Is that a 4wd version?
THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
tommy g 07-10-2008, 08:56 AM THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
I hope you are joking. If not, I'm ignoring your posts.
Shaffe 07-10-2008, 11:58 AM that looks like hell. look how small the breaks look with thsoe huge wheels with the tiny spokes
I hope you are joking. If not, I'm ignoring your posts.
I don't know.. a rear biased awd system like they have on the charger would be awesome. Better tuned of course... a little more lambo and a little less mercedes... but hey.

Try $3600 for the wheels pictured. Least that's what the little add on invoice stated that was stuck to the window.
888GT#31 07-10-2008, 02:50 PM :barf: Now it just needs a skyjacker kit!
locrzng888 07-10-2008, 02:53 PM Sad.
Slizzo 07-10-2008, 08:19 PM :barf: Now it just needs a skyjacker kit!
Looks like it's already half-way there with just the rims...
Imagine the stress being put on the rest of the drivetrain! :whine:
DollarBill 07-29-2008, 03:58 PM Not bad. Charming actually.
It being a performance sedan im sure it still handles pretty good. Oh wait, nevermind, thats the V6...
GETGONE 07-29-2008, 06:58 PM The V6 and V8 have the same suspension. They'll both handle about the same. V6 might actually corner better with a lighter engine.
vandy0419 07-29-2008, 07:05 PM Try $3600 for the wheels pictured. Least that's what the little add on invoice stated that was stuck to the window.
Thats the whole reason they put them on. You know there is a huge mark up in there and that they included "labor" in that fee. They just want more money.
One dealer around me adds in this XZILION crap that marks up the price $2000 when it is just that 3M like film to protect the front from chips. I would never buy that! I'd rather take my chances with small chips and when it gets bad enough, spend the $2000 getting the front conversion from Holden.
DollarBill 07-30-2008, 06:01 PM The V6 and V8 have the same suspension. They'll both handle about the same. V6 might actually corner better with a lighter engine.
Oh really.....didnt realize that. In that case ill take it!!![slaps money on table]

This one almost looks as good as mines!!!!
NWOG8 09-27-2008, 09:58 PM I think 20's are perfect!
Jacure 09-28-2008, 12:09 AM 20's would be perfect imo.
sccaGTO 09-28-2008, 08:49 PM Like the wheels, hate the size.
