That would be nice. Hope GM comes through and brings it to the US with the G8.

The price would be a real killer I'd speculate.

Although ......... the middle east is getting HSV cars now too. So its: NZ, UK, M/E, China (not currently producing). All small markets.

I wonder, if they worked out the kinks to get the cars from Adelaide to Melbourne then back for shipping if they might not try to bust off a few thousand run of G8's.

If so everyone back off - I'm first in line :p

I'm still a bit fuzzy as to the Holden/HSV relationship. Isn't HSV owned by someone (or some company) that campaigns in the Aussie Supercar series? Seems as if that justifies HSV building cars that are a little wilder than GMH. But, I agree. If GM can get all of their ducks in a row, I'd gladly take an HSV Clubbie as a GXP.

Well a few years back HSV did some clubsports for a charity race in Bahrain to coincide with a V8 supercar race held at the F1 track.

Then along came this ... "CSV"

Tom Walkinshaw owns HSV. They also have Walkinshaw Performance and I thought an F1 team in the UK... not sure if they still run that. I do not think Walkinshaw owns a V8 Super car team but HSV does sponsor a team. HSV occupies part of the old Nissian grounds in Melborune. The HRT race shop is directly behind HSV. HSV is acctually a pretty small operation. They work hand in hand with Holden. They will often share engineering work. HSV might benefit from something done on the Holden books, while after a few years Holden brings in HSV parts into the normal Holden Range and benefits that way. HSV cars are specially built at the factory and then fitted with steel wheels, unpainted bumpers, etc.... and sent over to HSV to be converted. It is really need because they can play around with the RPO codes and piece together some neat cars. When the GTO brought some upgraded items to the parts bin HSV also made use of those too. The only car that I know of that was extensively modified (lately) chassis wise after Holden was done building it was the Coupe 4 which acctually has a lot of custom work done to it.

Yea me too... from everything I've heard from my one person who is typically in the know, is to expect the LS3.

Heard LS3 from three different people, typically in the know...

A GXP with the LS3 would be like the GTO. We get the GMH body & suspension with the HSV engine. Not that I'm complaining.

expensive tires cry for their mothers.

Now that's funny no matter who you are. :)

Sounds like an feasible option for the States. Isn't that just a Maggie bolt on?

would be great to get this vehicle here as the gxp. would definately bring it up to par with the 09 cts-v. however, as much as i love superchargers, i would love for it to be all motor instead. "but", with that supercharger, you could spend very little, and get alot quicker!

Magnuson doesn't have anything for the L76 yet, as far as I can tell, so that is likely a Harrop unit.

Yeah somehow I think most americans wouldn't like the 7000 pound price tag for the kit, or aroun 13500 USD.

i do not think that car has the L76, if so why aren't are versions getting 412 hp and 405 lb tq?

i think it has the LS2

Belo,

By the time you purchase a G8 GXP and have a complete supercharger or turbo kit installed, the price difference will be smaller than you think to that CTS-V. You would, however, have something different.

True, but I don't think that he claimed to have the money to charge the GXP either.

CTS-V is going to be awesome, but I'll have to "settle" for the GXP also.

Instead of planting the LS3 into the GXP, you'd think that GM could have done the job just as cheaply by supercharging the L76 and gaining even more than 40 hp.

Yeah, I'd be pretty tapped getting a gxp to begin with. But I'm doing fairly well financially and I'm young. I figure if I'm going to make the leap, it's going to be now, or when I'm retired.

The thing with the gxp is this. You get the car (I need one by this winter), drive and enjoy it for 5 years, your warranty runs out and then you put a blower on. You have a beater/commuter so you can work on the gxp and not worry about ruining your daily driver. And I agree, it's something different/unique.
