You'd be amazed just riding in it. It does stuff a car that big has no business trying! :)

Atta kid, JJ!!! Hey, it was good seeing you at the car show last week. I think we need to sell our G8s for the Veyron they had down there.

Thanks all, I really appreciate it! I couldn't have done it without the members of this forum's help and expertise that everyone provides on a daily basis!!!

I am hoping to make a few minor changes this year to make an impact at Nationals and try to trophy. I will tell you right now that would be a MAJOR accomplishment, the competition is really tough up there. I am test fitting 315/30/18 Hoosier slicks all the way around on the car along with camber plates. Shane I will definitely hit you up for the 93 octane tune for Nationals this year.

John, I hear ya about the Veyron!! :wink2: It was funny, while at the car show, everything I climbed in was "if it was a good auto-x / track car or not"!

You all are invited to come down some time and ride along at the races, or if you want to get your track fix in, compete with us!!! It would be awesome to have a big group of G8's out there and of course a Camaro!! The schedule and all info you need is at WWW.STLSOLO.ORG If you decide to come make sure you get a hold of me to see if I will be at that particular event.

Thanks again for all the great comments, you guys are the best!
Sorry this is so long winded...

Cheers,
JJ

Kyle,

Sway bars are making such a dramatic improvement on the car! I will be getting a hold of you at some point to get the rear cradle bushings along with the adjustable end links for the sways!

JJ

It is really great to have someone with such experience in the G8 on the Auto-X. I know that I have been learning all sorts of information from you for my setup.

Congrats on the awards!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. Hoping to make an impact on the index this year. At the beginning of the season I was placing around 50th by the end of the year I was dipping into the top 30 with normal attendance being around 110 or so. I'm looking forward to the new season!

I could actually use a little more spring tension in my setup. I didn't have the extra money to invest in the XA's. The Koni's do a real good job, I just need the heavier springs to help with the last little bit of body roll. Or at least to have springs that aren't progressive like the Eibach's are.

Wish you all good luck in the upcoming season, let us know how you are doing!

JJ

Congrats! I'm looking forward to the Northeast SCCA season. I AutoX'd once last year and I'm hooked. BMR sways, end links, Spohn trailing arms, and toe rods are sitting in my basement ready to go on when it warms up a bit.

Will do... I received my spacers yesterday and will be trying them on tonight. I will take some pictures and try to get them posted up tonight. I will put a thread up in the tire section and will put a note in this thread as an update with a link.

Auto-xing is very addictive. Let me know how the trailing arms and toe rods work for you? I am looking at those fairly soon for the car.

True.. I am happy when my FS GXP makes it into the top 60 overall index.. Too many national champions here. But it certainly helps push you along. At least I am taking the FS class so far this season. Those 2011 Mustangs are trying hard though..

That's awesome! You are definitely doing something right if you are holding off the 2011 Mustangs!

I agree, that tough competition just helps you get better. I would rather have tough competition that none at all.

JJ

What class do you run? I was told I no longer qualify for FS since I have engine mods. Im also a novice so I have no idea where I'll be this season.

I currently run in ESP (E Street Prepared). As long as you don't put a cam or a blower on you can pretty much run in ESP. It is funny as soon as you put an aftermarket cam in, it moves you to at least Prepared class and you do not want to be there!!! :wink2:

Just doing a quick scan of your mods that you have, you could either run in ESP, but almost need to run slicks to be competitive (don't know if you were running these in stock class or not). Or you could run in a street tire class like STU also. Anything above this and your car would need to be heavily modified.

JJ

A cam or blower would also be allowed in Street Modified

That is definitely true, I forgot about that class. My friend ran in that class with his Super Charged '02 Vette. He is running around 675 HP, everytime he stab the throttle the back end wanted to come around. Go figure! :dunno: LOL

Thanks!

I am currently running Motul brake fluid in my car. Yes still on stock calipers, but I did upgrade the brake pads to Hawk HP plus. They do an amazing job stopping the car. I know other people have recommended Carbotech XP12's also.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

JJ
