Just bought the g8 and new to the forum...im 17 years old and just bought my first car and looking to get this thing faster..don't even ask why I didn't get v8 GT i guess because there was none at the dealership at the time and they only had one g8 sitting in the showroom in the gray charcoal color with the black interior & a first 888 which was what I wanted. It's the perfect car and I love it so far....How much horsepower could I add with putting a tune on the car as well as a new exaust? From what i read i could mayb get about 20-25 hp from a tune and actually up to 30 more hp with a new exaust which would put me at 315 which would be ideal....if anybody has any recommedations as far as tuning and exaust it would be a great help because my lack of knowledge on it...thank you

you are not going to get that much on a v6. The ls v8s have been known to pick up crazy HP from little mods. Unfortunately GM v-6 otors take a little bt moe massaging. Good luck.

Congt on your purchase....Don't get me wrong I really think the V6 has more than enough power for a guy your age.

Believe me, this magical car will make U want even more.

Hopefully U saved the extra $$$ from the GT difference to pop in a bigger hp engine than the stock GT has, and U can then start there with more hp.

Just a thought! :judge:

U may never have enogh with this car! :wink2:

But some day I'll have it all!

I feel it coming!

Cheers!

30 hp is more than realistic for the V6.

OTRCAI/CAI, remap and cat back will get you those numbers...

Have a look at the OTRCAI post i put up

I don't know, as good as the L67 was, the LY7 is a much better motor overall, and should respond to mods better than an L67 did.

That, and the LY7 should be more reliable as well. In all of it's different forms, it's never had any real major issues. Nothing like, say, a recall on the head gaskets/spark plugs that all of us former Gen2 W-body owners had. :)
