: mustang GT
Panther8 07-17-2008, 06:33 AM finally got a hold of a mustang GT(manual transmission)this morning.....:driving: Got to say it was a fairly well matched race. We did not go from a dig but I would say a 20 mph launch. We turned under the freeway on the feeder road and I waited for him to get even with me then we both nailed it. He stayed right with me until 80mph or so and then I started to pull on him. by 100mph I had a good car length on him.....that is about the time we shut it down.
I don't know the extent of his modifications, but I know he had exhaust at the minimum (sounded good). My car is bone stock for now :gr_devil:

Do you have a G8 GT or a C6 Vette? Your avitar is a Vette so I'm a little confused. I'm assuming you have the G8, otherwise you would have smoked him!
I'm anxious to run against one, stock for stock. I figured they would pull on our stock G8s just a bit, but I guess it comes down to the driver. Thanks for the post!
HardEight 07-17-2008, 08:58 AM If he is running a Vette against a stock Mustang and only got 1 length, something is seriously wrong.....

sorry for the confusion guys. Mustang GT's are a good match for the G8 GT.....try one. sure shocked the guy in the mustang. He took a couple good looks to try and figure out what the hell kind of car it was :driving:

I am waiting on the "cool down" in Houston too. I have victimized a few GTs and they are just shocked that a 4 dr is that fast.

They did my vette and did a fantastic job. Looks like I need a new tuner in Houston and I am not interested in HPE or g-force.

Mail order VMS. I have to give it to them with no data logging it is dead on. I know there is more though. I will probably go to HPE to get it dynoed. Sucks about MTI I am real close to them. I will do some street datalogging once the headers are on to get a new tune, then dyno it to see where I am at. Nice Vette.

Yes Sir. I was talking to some Vette/ GTO guys @ Ottos and thats who tuned them. If I get a little quicker I want to run the Vette. Only for the doubters on here, not to bust you ballz. We just met and if you read my posts I m not an azzhole. It just would be nice to run a local fast car so it can be posted. If it close...... There goes the bank accout on your G8. LOL

There goes the bank accout on your G8. LOL somebody wants to play with the big boys huh.....the vette is way out of the g8's league stock or even mildly modified. My vette is not stock......it has kooks LT headers, bassani exhaust, 160 deg stat, callaway cold air induction and a callaway short throw shifter to list a few of the performance mods. the car put down 393hp at the wheels and it tips the scales at 3100# So you add 900# and subtract 50 or so hp at the crank (I am assuming you are somewhere near 400 crank hp) and you have a quite a deficit to make up. Now if you go and add 150hp or so you might be ready:)

this one was made at the valvoline mobile dyno in April '08 at the NHRA drag races. Car made 393 rwhp with a few more miles on it and a little bit looser engine (~4500 mi)

TomPierce 07-17-2008, 06:18 PM The G8s first trip to the drags I raced 2 late model Mustangs - lost by .04 to one and beat the other by .016
The one I lost to drove by me in the pits and really wanted to know if I was stock - when I told him I was, he didn't have too much else to say.
For what it is worth, his top speed was 94.16 and mine was 99.08 so I was catching him fast on the top end.
