I added a Roto-fab a few weeks ago and immediately noticed more WOT power, but installation on a otherwise stock car generated some drivability issues that I had not detected before (sag/bog/idle control on snap closed throttle etc.) It was apparant that the fuel trim was correcting the more I drove it. Knowing I was going to add the Magnaflow when it arrived, I was reluctant to have it tuned until that installation. Good thing. The Magnaflow sound mo-better (a little funky note in DOD), but more drivability issues, more fuel-trim correction on my Mastertech. I am tempted by VMS to try their tune, but it makes more sense to have real dyno time during adjustment, so I am going to let a nother shop in New Braunfels, Texas work their majik along with a dyno sheet. More to follow.:)

Unless your shop has done a G8, go with Vector. I went through the same thing, chose Vector and happy.

Schlitterbahn!
The hottest coolest time in Texas, Schlitterbahn!
Vector seems to have a good handle on the G8. I'd go with them, unless you can find another shop that has experience with the G8 like wreckwriter said.

Thanx for the input. Experience in anything cannot be over-valued.

There's something to be said for doing it part by part too, that way you will know how much each part did for you as well as the combined total experience. If you have everything before the tune you will be able to feel if you got a good tune.

there is nothing magical about the G8 or tuning in general... as long as your tuner has plenty of experience and has a good reputation, they should do a good job.
the only X factor with the L76 is the VVT. Maximizing the potential of it would take a bit of work and it is new to LSX motors as its only been around 2 years.

VVT? No VVT on the L76... Only DOD/AFM
I have been told that Vector is the best as well by the guys here getting stupid ET's and power.

I agree, get all of your major bolt ons before your tune ie. CAI, exhaust, HSRK, headers etc... after the tune (if its a good tune) you should definately feel the SOTP difference WOT.

The vortec L76 and the one in the cars are different. There are more differences than just the VVT.
